What’s up, Doc? This SelfDelve Carrot Dildo , mostly. What a basket of fun these veggie dildos are. SelfDelve manufacture silicone fruit and veg sex toys which can be found for sale at online sex shops. This large silicone Carrot sex toy was sent to me free of charge, in exchange for this fair and honest review, along with a couple of other products from the collection: the Corn on the Cob Dildo and the Aubergine Dildo.

The outer packaging was discreet and the parcel arrived with me in good time. The dildo itself came in a transparent plastic bag for hygiene since its manufacture, and this was inside a fabric storage bag.
I loved the look of the SelfDelve Carrot Dildo, but I wasn’t too impressed with the free storage pouch it came in. At the same time I was grateful they put one in with the toy. Storage pouches for silicone toys are great, but did this one have to be in such an old fashioned looking material which doesn’t really go with the look and feel of the sex toy collection they contain?
As my Carrot sex toyarrived at the same time and in the same parcel as the Aubergine Dildo, it was difficult not to compare the two immediately. This dildo is extremely slender and lightweight compared to the monstrous Aubergine Dildo. As it’s slimmer, the flexibility of the material is more obvious.
The SelfDelve Carrot Dildo is made from silicone, the same as the rest of the sex toys in the SelfDelve collection. Rather than being made from the hard plastic with very prominent seams such as those with children’s grocery shop toys (ouch), this carrot sex toy is supremely smooth and there’s no prominent or raised seams at all. It feels soft and supple, with a shiny surface which reflects the light attractively.
As I’ve mentioned, the SelfDelve Carrot Dildo is quite slim compared to the other two sex toys I own from the SelfDelve collection. This means that when I pick it up the length of the Carrot dong causes the toy to bend and bounce. You can see this in the little video later on in this review. It demonstrates just how flexible this dildo is. I can bend it almost completely back on itself!
The SelfDelve Carrot Dildo measures 8.5 inches in overall length, with a maximum insertable length of 7.5 inches. The maximum circumference is 4.5 inches.
As I’ve mentioned, the weight of the Carrot sex toy is quite noticeably less than the other two toys I have from the collection. It weighs just 132g compared to 336g for the Corn on the Cob Dildo and 390g for my heavyweight Aubergine Dildo.
I didn’t enjoy using my SelfDelve Carrot Dildo quite as much as my Corn on the Cob Dildo or my Aubergine Dildo. In fact it’s my least favourite of the three vegetable design sex toys I own. That’s not to say it’s a write-off or that it’s rubbish; it just lacks certain features the other two have which make me rate them higher than the carrot.
Firstly, the Corn on the Cob Dildo has the nodules and texture provided by the corn design all over its surface. As a textured sex toy fan this is incredibly stimulating when I use the Corn on the Cob Dildo vaginally. The Aubergine Dildo… well, look at the size and girth of it. I challenge any size queen not to be fully satisfied with that beast. But the Carrot sex toy? Sure, it’s fun and it’s fine and everything, and undoubtedly much easier to insert (I don’t even need that much lube even for the larger end, just a drop or two if I’m not pre-aroused), but it just lacks those extra special features the other two have.
However, if you’re a vagina-owning type who prefers a slimmer dildo, and have a thing for lengthy non-phallic dildos, this could be the perfect choice for you.
For me, after a few uses and coupling those masturbation sessions with a clit vibe to get me off, the SelfDelve Carrot Dildo has become more ornament than regularly used sex toy. I’m far more likely to reach for the Corn on the Cob or Aubergine when I fancy a filthy-kinky sex toy orgasm sesh.
Washing the Carrot sex toy after use is extremely quick, hassle-free and worry-free thanks to the smooth material, the lack of any crevices where dirt could get caught, and the fact that the silicone material is body-safe and non-porous. I just wash it down in warm soapy water and use my dedicated toy washing nail brush if necessary. A quick spritz of anti-bac spray to finish it off and once dry it’s ready for another play.
As well as the fun visuals of the fruit and veg sex toys in this collection, there’s another fun novelty factor. The dildos change colour when enough heat is introduced to the material. The Carrot’s colour change is more pronounced to me than the Corn on the Cob Dildo, but not as obvious as the Aubergine Dildo. You can see what I mean in the pictures below:
The colour change does happen when I use the Carrot sex toy vaginally as well which gives a fantastical sensation of mutual enjoyment from the sex toy. It’s as if the masturbation session has got the SelfDelve Carrot Dildo all hot and flustered as well – just like I mentioned in my recent Aubergine Dildo review.
For the vagina-owner who is interested in these fruit and veg sex toys but who is wary of extra wide or overly textured styles, the SelfDelve Carrot Dildo might just be perfect. It’s smooth, made of body-safe non-porous silicone and is extremely lightweight, comfortable to use and slim . It doesn’t take up that much room in the drawer and if you happen to leave it on the bedside table -or on the sitting room mantel piece- when visitors arrive you could get away with saying it’s modern art. Or a dog chew toy.
Just like the other vegetable sex toys I own, this carrot sex toy is undoubtedly fun and this adds another level to masturbation with it. The sense of naughtiness, the nostalgic trips down masturbation-memory lane you might have if you had teenage years anything like mine. The body-safe carrot you can fuck yourself with then fully clean and enjoy over and over again… no more stealing a pre-chilled carrot from the bottom of the fridge and surreptitiously ditching it in the garbage late at night.
