Free of an agenda (except that gay one)

Carmen Carrera doesn’t want you talking about her private parts , but she’s putting them all on full display in brand new advertisements for the annual Life Ball , revealed in Vienna this week.
To be clear, it is not disclosed whether the private parts in this ad belong to Miss Carrera or not. It’s safe to assume they’ve been Photoshopped onto her body. You can see the full, uncensored shots here .
Planned each year by nonprofit organization AIDS LIFE, the Life Ball is one of the largest and most spectacular AIDS charity events in the world. It attracts celebrates, artists, designers, activists and politicians from across the world and is most noted for its breathtaking live performances and impassioned speeches focusing attention on AIDS awareness.
Photographer David LaChapelle says the two advertisements, showing trans icon Carrera with both male and female genitalia, fit this year’s theme, “The Garden of Earthly Delights”:
“Gender lines are blurred and every person is unique in how they see themselves. For me the body is more than something to be looked at as an object of sexual gratification. The body is a beautiful housing for the soul that we are celebrating in this picture.”
Carrera famously told Katie Couric earlier this year that she was offended by people talking about her genitals. On the topic of this advertisement, which displays her face on a body with visible male and female genitals, she says “your gender should not matter in your heart or in the way you express your personality.”
The Life Ball will take place on May 31 in Vienna, Austria.
The usually trans activists are very quiet on this one…hmmm.

Just because she shows her body in an ad doesn’t mean she can’t think it’s rude to be constantly questioned about her genitals. The tone of this article seems unnecessarily bitchy, like someone who’s pissed because a woman won’t answer his invasive questions but she still has the AUDACITY TO SHOW OFF HER BODY WHEN SHE DECIDES SHE WANTS TO. How dare she!
Carmen is more than her genitals and she wants people to know that. It doesn’t mean she can’t ever flaunt her body or pose nude. You need to calm down with this.
Carmen looks beautiful in both pictures. That’s all I have to say on this matter.
I think these pictures are really cool! She refuses to confine herself to a single gender identity. Sexual and gender fluidity are what we’re all about! Good stuff.
Isn’t this a gay/queer site? So why can’t Queerty show the genitals. All of the men on here have seen penises (I hope), and we all came out of a uterus (if not a vulva), so what’s the big deal?
Why is a ball popular with homosexual men using a woman’s body in the ad? Are the organizers afraid of the male body? Hasn’t Austria already imposed on us a warped version of male homosexuality in the form of the horrible Conchita Wurst?

I think it’s highly hypercritical of Carmen to say don’t or stop talking about my genitals and then pose nude. By posing nude she’s not only inviting conversation about her genitals she drowning direct attention to them. Having two pictures one with a penis and one without is also a contridictery because we all known Carmen isn’t fully women she has a penis… and yes thats my opinion doesn’t mean anyone else has to agree with it so don’t go all bonkers over it.

The mother of three starred in major movies, such as Howard Stern’s “Private Parts,” and appeared on TV shows, like “Family Guy.” The 43-year-old also published the best-selling book “Sugar” and her autobiography “How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale.”
Sasha Grey She won Female Performer of the Year at the 2008 AVN Awards but then segued into a role in 2009’s “The Girlfriend Experience.” She also played herself in the HBO hit series “Entourage.” The star dabbled in modeling, appearing in ads for Max Azria and American Apparel. Like Jameson, she is also an author, penning novels “Neü Sex” and “The Juliette Society.”
