This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the CarScreen iPhone app, its CarPlay interface, and its screen broadcast extension. It describes the information processed, the reasons for processing it, and your choices.
## 1. Information processed on your device
You do not need to create a CarScreen account. To provide the features you use, CarScreen may process and store the following information on your device:
- The names and addresses of media sources you add, M3U/IPTV playlists, and direct stream links.
- Favorites, recently played items, saved website shortcuts, language choices, and other app preferences.
- Local copies of videos you choose to import, their filenames, and existing metadata contained in those files.
- Access records for folders you authorize through the Files interface.
- Cookies, sign-in sessions, cache, and other website data that WebKit may store for sites you visit.
CarScreen does not automatically upload this library or your media to a cloud server operated by the developer. Depending on your Apple backup settings, app data may be included in device backups.
## 2. Free usage allowance
To measure the free CarPlay usage allowance and prevent it from being repeatedly reset on the same device, CarScreen stores a random trial identifier, consumed usage time, and the status of usage warnings in the device's Keychain.
This trial record is not sent to a developer-operated server or synchronized by CarScreen through iCloud Keychain. Deleting and reinstalling the app may leave the record intact, so a remaining or exhausted allowance may be preserved.
This local trial identifier is separate from the user identifier that RevenueCat creates for purchase management.
## 3. Photos, files, and permissions
CarScreen uses the selection interfaces and permission mechanisms provided by iOS to browse or import videos from Photos. The scope of access depends on the selection method and permission you grant. The app may display thumbnails and file information for accessible videos. Videos you import are copied into the app's local storage.
The Files feature accesses files you select and folders you authorize. If you select content stored with iCloud or another file provider, that provider may download it to your device. Importing a video stored in iCloud Photos may also require a download through Apple.
Local network access may be used to reach local media sources or deliver a broadcast to a receiver you select. You can manage Photos, microphone, speech recognition, and local network permissions in iPhone Settings. Disabling a permission may limit the related feature.
## 4. Screen broadcasting and phone typing
Screen broadcasting starts when you initiate the iOS broadcast process. Screen frames and app audio supplied by iOS are processed on the device for playback on CarPlay, a connected display, or a receiver you select. Personal information visible on your screen may also appear on that display.
Broadcast processing may create temporary video segments and local status or performance records. Older segments may be removed as streaming progresses or when a new session is prepared; stopping a broadcast does not necessarily delete every temporary file immediately. CarScreen does not send broadcast content to an internet server operated by the developer.
Some local delivery paths may use HTTP without transport encryption. Use a trusted network and receiver for local network broadcasts. You can stop a broadcast through the app or iOS broadcast controls.
Phone typing synchronizes text between the iPhone and CarPlay interfaces in the app's memory. A separate cloud service is not used for this synchronization. Text entered into a website may be sent to that site according to how the website works.
## 5. Microphone and speech recognition
Voice typing starts when you use the microphone control and grant the required iOS permissions. CarScreen uses on-device speech recognition when supported. When on-device recognition is unavailable, audio may be sent to Apple's speech recognition service.
CarScreen's voice typing feature does not create a permanent microphone audio file. Recognized text is inserted into the input field and may be sent to the relevant website when used for a search or web form. Apple's processing is governed by its privacy notices.

## 6. Purchases and RevenueCat
In-app purchases are processed through the Apple App Store. CarScreen uses RevenueCat to verify Pro access, restore purchases, and manage subscription status.
Information processed for these purposes may include a randomly generated app user identifier, product and transaction identifiers, purchase history, subscription or access status, and transaction dates. Requests may also contain app and SDK versions, device and operating system information, language or regional information, and connection information such as an IP address. RevenueCat also processes purchase information for validation and subscription statistics. The service may connect even if you do not have an app account or have not made a purchase.
CarScreen does not attach your name or email address to the RevenueCat user identifier through the app. CarScreen and RevenueCat do not receive your full payment card number or card security code. Apple handles your payment method.

- [RevenueCat App Data Disclosure](https://www.revenuecat.com/docs/platform-resources/apple-platform-resources/apple-app-privacy)
Deleting the app does not cancel an App Store subscription. You can manage subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings.
## 7. Websites and media providers
Websites you open, search services you use, and providers of media or playlists you add receive network requests directly. For example, entering a search rather than a website address into the address field sends that search to Google. A provider may process your IP address, the requested address or search, information you enter into forms, and browser or connection information.
Websites may use their own cookies, session storage, advertisements, and measurement technologies. Their activities are governed by their own privacy policies. If a source URL contains a username, access token, or other account information, that information may be stored with the source and transmitted to its provider when connecting.
## 8. Purposes, collection methods, and legal bases
Information is obtained electronically through the files and links you select, permissions you grant, on-device app operations, Apple or RevenueCat purchase information, and support messages you send us.
- Media playback, browsing, mirroring, remembering preferences, and providing Pro access are processed to deliver the service you request and perform the related contract.
- Applying trial limits, preventing misuse, reviewing purchase statistics, and answering support requests are assessed under legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, balanced against your rights and freedoms.
- Records required by law and valid official requests are processed only as needed for the relevant legal obligation. Records may also be retained when necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- Where applicable law requires consent for an optional activity, that consent must be obtained separately. Reading this policy or using the app is not, by itself, blanket consent to those activities.
The current version of CarScreen does not integrate a separate advertising network or an SDK for cross-app advertising tracking. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. This statement does not describe the independent activities of websites you visit.
## 9. Recipients and international processing
For the purposes described above, information may be sent to service providers such as Apple and RevenueCat, the website and media providers you choose, and your selected broadcast receivers. If you email us, your address, message, and attachments are processed through our email provider to answer your request. Disclosure to public authorities is limited to what a valid legal obligation requires.
Apple, RevenueCat, our email provider, and other services you choose may operate systems in different countries. Information sent to those services may therefore be processed outside your country of residence. For information about the relevant recipients and international transfer arrangements, contact supportcarscreen@gmail.com.
## 10. Retention, deletion, and security
Local sources, favorites, shortcuts, and imported videos may remain until you delete them or the related app data is removed. You can use the available in-app deletion controls and iOS app and permission management. The Keychain trial record may remain after uninstalling the app. We cannot remotely access data that exists only on your device, so removing it may require an action on that device.
Retention of purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat depends on purposes such as access verification, purchase restoration, fraud prevention, and applicable legal requirements. Uninstalling CarScreen does not automatically delete those records. Support correspondence is retained only as needed to resolve the request and maintain necessary legal records, and is deleted or anonymized when no longer needed. You may send a deletion request to our contact address.
CarScreen uses platform protections such as iOS app access boundaries, permissions, and Keychain. No internet or local network transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
## 11. Your rights, children, and policy changes
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to learn whether your information is processed; request information or access; request correction, deletion, or restriction; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and receive portable data. Under Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law, rights may also include learning the recipients of your information, requesting that corrections or deletion be communicated to recipients, objecting to adverse results produced solely through automated analysis, and seeking compensation for unlawful processing. You may also complain to the competent data protection authority.
Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing. Some records may need to be retained for legal reasons. When handling a request, we may need proportionate information to verify your identity or relationship to a purchase.
CarScreen is not designed for children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without the necessary authorization, please contact us.
We may update this policy when features or data practices change. The current version will be published at the same location with an updated date. Where required by law, material changes will be separately communicated or any necessary consent obtained.
