From my experience, I will say that there is nothing tragic in this, getting used to the right steering wheel takes about 10-15 minutes. The lion's share of roads are separate, that is, oncoming lanes are separated from each other and there is no feeling that you are driving "not in your lane". Only on the ring road you need to get used to the fact that you are going "clockwise" along the ring, and not "against", as in mainland Europe.

Rental cars have red numbers both at the back and in front, this is done so that they can be noticed by locals in the flow of cars and treated with understanding to the driving style. If you calculate the cost of excursions (35-50 euros per person), then the rental car will pay for itself on the second day.
