CapsGame Times #8 - September 2026

CapsGame

The glasses have been drained, the music has gone quiet, and the guests have all gone home. And so it ends… Wait, wasn’t that at the beginning of the month?! Alright, we won’t judge Capston... Turning two doesn’t happen every day. So let’s give him a friendly pat on the shoulder and let him recover after a party like that

In this, let’s say, semi-festive haze of a newspaper issue, we won’t dive into the usual retrospective digest-style analysis. Instead, we’ll grab a pen, a notebook (keyboard?) and have an honest talk about our beloved CapsGame. What path we’ve taken, what worked, and what didn’t quite land. What was interesting, and what could use some work. And, of course, we’ll pull back the curtain a little further on the future development of the project and our plans for the foreseeable future

And yes, this whole assessment will be subjective. An unavoidable side effect of the author-driven format. So if you want to share an alternative take — just write! Maybe we’ll even publish it. But, as Homer Simpson once said: “I hope this doesn’t involve a punch in the face... I don’t like those”

So grab the last dried-up piece of cake and let’s go!

Throw it in the trash, that was a joke...

To hell with headlines!

Let’s all guess the most profitable mechanic of the past year! “Ca” pa-ra-pa-pa-pa-pam, “si” pa-ra-pa-pa-pa-pam, “rou” pa-ra-pa-pa-pa... “lette!” ... ?... Yep, “casiroulette.” What’s wrong with that?

It would be pretty weird to hide the cash cow in the monetization china shop. The Caps of Fortune mechanic really kicked the door into the project with both feet, instantly proving how effective and in-demand it was. And again — not exactly a surprise. We looked at other projects, looked at Telegram trends, and thought: “Well... kinda... yeah?”

At the same time, we didn’t want to make a “casino” in the usual sense of the word, where you can dump everything in and get nothing in return. So we settled on the “no-lose lottery” option, where the player always gets a reward — its value just depends on luck

Fun fact. Your chances of getting something valuable do not depend on payments, previous wins, or an ancient shamanic luck dance (although we haven’t tested that last one). Just pure, flawless Mr. Random. The only thing there is: a small increasing chance to get higher grades if fortune is not on your side and you keep getting only Common and Common+

After looking at the first metrics, then the second ones, the third ones, and so on, we decided to move the mechanic onto a permanent basis. Over time, we settled on the “every Friday” format, so everyone would have a clear idea of “when.” Sometimes, sure, we miss Friday and have to shift things around a bit

Another fun fact. A full-fledged online casino once offered us a partnership. We declined. Because yes, “money” is nice, of course. But as Thanos once said: “At what cost?” And “at the cost of everything” is not our way. We’re making a game

And then things really got rolling! Unique frames, exclusive Trophies, big Jackpots. Eventually, we arrived at the biggest festive Caps of Fortune yet, where absolutely all the Trophies we had “pocketed” for ourselves were added to the prize pool. We’ll go ahead and make some people happy and some people sad right away: this kind of format is a Birthday exclusive. We have no plans to run something like this “just because,” or even for New Year

It’s also worth noting that, every now and then, “casino for CG” does get launched. One Cap Man was the test run, and now Rocker Mice has started. CG spending is breaking every imaginable limit, and the CG Market even manages to go empty sometimes. Every format has its perks

As for what’s next for the mechanic, it’ll mostly be small improvements and refinements. We’ll obviously continue the good practice of adding exclusive Trophies and frames to Caps of Fortune, so expect an update very soon!

“Here they are, from left to right…”

What started as “looks cool, let’s try it” eventually grew into a full-fledged and very important part of CapsGame

Yeah, by the way, this is already a new chapter, in case someone missed it. We agreed to go without headlines today!

So, of course, we are talking about…

No, not scooters! What scooters are you even talking about… We’re talking about Trophies, obviously. There was literally a spoiler image right above this

The idea was simple. We all love collecting. So we needed “something else to collect”. But at the same time, we didn’t want to pull attention away from caps, because they are the central and most important element of the game. So no Turbo gum inserts! (or maybe…). And we also wanted these to be rare, limited little pieces

Remembering childhood toys and all kinds of figures that many people still happily collect today, we came to the conclusion: “This is it!”. At first, we even really wanted to make them truly unique — like, a supply of 100 pieces, and every single one would be different in some way. Then we remembered that we don’t have full ART and DEV departments, and decided that sometimes we’ll make different colors, and honestly, that’s already pretty good

And here’s another fun fact. For half a year now, we’ve had a Trophy ready in the form of a Pepe badge with his mouth smeared with shit chocolate… You’ve all seen it. At first it felt like “This is hilarious, they’ll love it”, but then we looked at who sometimes gets offended by what, and thought: yeah, maybe not. Let it wait for better times

The first Trophy, shaped like an egg, appeared on Easter. A whole 16 different color variations, but with no “shelf” bonus at all. Back then, we still didn’t have a clear understanding that every Trophy needed one. So maybe next Easter they’ll get “some kind of improvement”. We didn’t collect all of them for nothing, right…

What’s next? For now, the plans are too foggy to share. Many people want Trophy sales, but honestly, that’s unlikely. We want to keep them as rare and exclusive rewards that you earn during special moments, not just buy outright. 1-to-1 trades? That’s possible. We’ll think about it. One thing is already clear: Trophies have become an essential part of CapsGame, and they will keep living and growing

Remember when everyone used to wait months for at least some kind of event? And then, like mushrooms after rain, new event formats and new content started popping up everywhere. Over the year, these formats grew, got stronger, “put on some nice extra weight,” and became an essential part of almost everyday life

These days, if we take a break for more than one day, people already start asking “Where’s the event?” and “Is this the beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning?” You got used to it! But that was part of our activity growth strategy. So honestly, we’re only happy about it

Our beloved Collection Event is the foundation of foundations. It started with the idea of “fight the boss using only one collection”, but then we thought: “What if, instead of spontaneous CG drops for holders of a specific collection, we give some extra volume for additional mining?” The idea clicked, because it gives players a way to influence the mining volume instead of just having “CG fall from the sky”. Then we added rankings, a unique Trophy, improved this, tweaked that, and now we’re already launching new Collection Events 2–3 times a month

Even with the format already established, launching them this often is a big chunk of work. But if it makes you happy, it makes us happy too. We’ll keep trying!

Now, let’s talk plans! The biggest, juiciest spoiler: a new grade is in development — Mythic. After Diamond+, obviously. And yes, we understand that for many collections, there simply aren’t enough caps left to reach the maximum rarity using the old system. Even Kaidzen is basically impossible to complete now, no matter how hard you try — unless you go and shake down every single owner

That’s why Diamond+ and Mythic will have their own separate upgrade mechanic, requiring different resources, different caps, and a lot of time. How exactly the upgrade process will work — we’ll keep that a mystery for now. But it will definitely be more interesting than a couple of clicks.

Oh, right, and of course Mythic will have its own visual style. Does parallax mean anything to you? Remember that effect on real caps, where the image slightly “moved” depending on the viewing angle? And shimmered, too. That’s pretty much what it’s going to be like. More or less

Remember those old text RPGs you could still run on ancient phones? Where the peak of graphics was, like, one picture? And everything else was delivered through “You turned left and… saw a nobleman cleaning your stove. What will you do?”

If anyone got that reference — honestly, respect

We had a similar idea too. To bring back that nostalgic feeling of a “game in your head” — half-book, half-game

There’s a conditional map that opens up as you progress. You get options like “forward,” “right,” “left,” and “back.” And every direction has its own description and, maybe, an event. Here you run into bandits, there a wolf attacks you, and over there, behind the tall trees, there’s a mysterious pond

Battles, of course, are fought with caps. The rewards are unique and thematic. And everything sounds great, except for one little “but” that goes something like: “Does our community actually need this?” And the answer is still not exactly clear. It would be sad to pour that much work into the void. We’re still thinking. But we really want to make it!

We really liked this image. Let it stay, even though they have bottle “caps”. That’s a kind of nostalgia too

Bits. We want to make bits. Yes. The only problem is that this task keeps getting pushed, and pushed, and pushed... Because it runs into two questions: “Is the combat system ready?” and “Are we sure this is the right form?”

We won’t reveal all the caps’ tricks, but one thing is absolutely certain: bits will be additional abilities. The kind that can seriously affect the course of a battle at any moment. One more hit, and all your caps are about to be destroyed? Use a bit! Flying onto the battlefield, it applies a healing effect to everyone. But use them wisely — they won’t be endless within a battle

This is just a rough example of how they could be used. We’re still thinking about the best way to implement such an important element in the game. And pushing it, pushing it...

And finally, a completely insane idea. So insane, in fact, that it’s probably better not to count on it yet — just forget it exists!

It’s all about deeper customization. But what is there left to customize when caps already have everything? Exactly — add new elements

How about your own room? A place where you could display expensive decor items (dear to your heart, and sometimes to your wallet too), earned from different events and tournaments. Or maybe a “personal Capston” that you could dress up and customize however you like?

Sounds interesting, but for now it’s still very raw. There’s a lot to think through before updates like this appear in the game. Or don’t appear. It all depends on the results of all that thinking

That’s NOT All, Folks!

We could spend a long time listing all our plans, but we’d rather keep a lot of them as a mystery. A nice little surprise. And talking about every tiny change and improvement we’re planning is honestly a great way to die of boredom. So let’s just stick together: you with us, and us with you

And speaking of you. Even though feedback doesn’t always (very “doesn’t always,” if we’re being honest) bring kind words, support, or useful advice, we still value our community. And we especially value those who are genuinely happy about our shared wins and help the project grow

Let’s see what another non-calendar year brings us. Whatever it is, it’s definitely going to be interesting. SPASIBO-CAPSGAME, no activation limit
