Cansu Dere was born on October 14, 1980, in Ankara. She is a Turkish film and television performing actress, and model. She participated in the beauty contest and won third place in Miss Turkey in 2000.
Her family was Turkish foreigners from Greece and Bulgaria. She received her graduation from the Department of Archaeology at İstanbul University. Cansu Dere made her acting career in both Film and Television in the beginning of 2004.
She begun her career with modeling. Later on, she made a successful debut in the Turkish TV series i.e., Coming Home (Sila). The TV series is very much famous in other countries world-wide.
Cansu proceeded with her career by participating in historical series “Son Osmanlı Yandım Ali”. She played the role of the blind girl in the film ‘Bitter Love’. She has seen in Paris, and Milan on various fashion shows.
In 2012, Cansu Dere featured on the cover of In Style magazine Turkey December. Afterwards, in the same year she was the face of cosmetic brand L`Oreal for Turkey, and appeared in various TV advertisements, and commercials.
Beside getting featured in magazines and cosmetic brands, she also made presentation of MAGNUM ice cream, well-known in Turkey.

Cansu Dere is a woman of unforgettable roles and projects. And so, in our latest article, she became the subject as a member of another amazing role. The actress will be on Turkish screens soon with the Turkish adaptation of Doctor Foster . The adaptation is going to be on the screen with the name of “ Sadakatsiz ” ( Disloyal in Turkish).
Cansu Dere was born on 14 October 1980. She is a Turkish film and television actress, model, and beauty pageant runner-up. Her family was Turkish immigrants from Greece and Bulgaria. After graduating from the Department of Archaeology at Istanbul University, the actress made her debut in both cinema and television at the beginning of 2004. Between 2006 and 2008, Dere had the leading role as “Sıla” in the Sıla series along with Mehmet Akif Alakurt. She then starred as “ Defne ” with Kenan İmirzalıoğlu, in the film The Last Ottoman . In 2009, she acted in the dark comedy, Acı Aşk . In 2011, she played the lead protagonist “ Eyşan ” in the TV series Ezel . This role has been her best and the most unforgettable role ever in her career so far. And so is the same for the series.
Cansu Dere, who is from a Greek immigrant family, completed his primary and secondary education in Izmir. Kanal D Miss Turkey Beauty Contest in Turkey in 2000 elected her as 3rd. Thus, a nice modeling career began for her professionally. She took places in Turkey’s most important fashion designer’s fashion shows, —such as Hakan Yıldırım, Cengiz Abazoğlu, Ümit Ünal, Evrim Timur, Arzu Kaprol, Bahar Korçan.
The actress represented Turkey in all international organizations of ITKIB (İstanbul Apparel Exporters’ Association (IHKIB) in Turkish) . Cansu Dere participated in various fashion shows in Paris between 2002-2003. What’s more, she carried out successful works with many internationally important photographers. She graduated from the Department of Archaeology at Istanbul University.
She had her first announcer experience with the Child and Music program on Kanal D. Then in 2004, she presented Turkey’s Star competition program aired on Show TV. She was the editor as well as the presenter of the LifeStyle Fashion program broadcast on NTV. In 2005, she hosted the N Moda program on NTV.
In 2004, she stepped into acting with the Metro Palas series, where she acted as Nazan . Hilal Saral, by the way, was the director of the series. Later, she played the character of Irmak Bozoğlu in the series Alacakaranlık ( Twilight in Turkish), directed by Türkan Derya. Dere, who attracted attention with her role as Ceylan in the Güz Yangını ( Fall Fire in Turkish) series directed by Zeynep Günay Tan in 2005. There, she played the character of the peasant Esma in Çağan Irmak’s TV movie format Nightmare House during this period. Between 2006-2008, she increased her popularity by playing the leading role with Mehmet Akif Alakurt in the TV series Sıla.
Turkish TV series Ezel , which left its mark on the period in 2009, made Cansu Dere even more famous for her role as Eyşan in the series. Again, in 2009, “Totally Spies: Spy Girls How It All Began?” she voiced the characters, Alex and Mandy, in the movie. In 2010, she played the character of Mary Lou in the Yahşi Batı (Wild West) movie. The famous Turkish actress Cansu Dere had recently acted in Ferhat ile Şirin (Ferhad and Shirin in Turkish) Turkish TV series. The series wasn’t able to achieve success on TV and did finale in 7 episodes.
Şahsiyet (Persona) mini internet series was a great achievement for both Cansu Dere and the series itself. 8-episodes mini internet series brought international fame to the Turkish actress.
The actress had a 7-year-long relationship with an acclaimed Turkish comedian Cem Yılmaz. After breaking up with him, she stayed silent with her private life and had no intimate affair. However, she has been in a relationship with the prominent Turkish actor Engin Akyürek . The couple lives their relationship in an out of eyes for some time.
In April, Turkish star Cansu Dere increased the dose of her attack to mock Tuba Büyüküstün’s body. First, she had called on her colleague to fix herself and treat her psychological issues. Cansu made this statement in response to Tuba Büyüküstün ‘s attack on her for playing bold scenes, although she played those scenes herself.
In the interview , A journalist asked Cansu Dere about the most beautiful bodies of Turkish actresses. Dere mentioned herself, as she was elected Miss Turkey a few years ago. But when the journalist mentioned Tuba Büyüküstün’s name, Cansu commented: “Does she have a body at all?”
She continued: “Her body is like bodies of men. Don’t you think that’s a man’s buddy? and she says; I don’t play bold scenes. Audacity needs a little femininity.”
Fortunately, the popular Turkish actress Cansu Dere, later on, apologized from Tuba Büyüküstün for her unfortunate statement. The beautiful actress Cansu Dere regretted her statement and said, “What I did was violence. Forgive me. [Tuba]”
Both of the actresses have a great number of fans in the Middle East after some of their successful projects. Cansu Dere is 1.76 meters tall, 50 kilos. Her zodiac sign, on the other hand, is Libra.
