Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
Multiple suspender straps on a garter belt serves two purposes: Keeping the stockings and the seam perfectly straight from twisting when sitting down and standing up. The other reason is that they have that sexy fetish appeal.

Of special note is that the sheer black panties are being worn OVER the garter belt for those more "unobstructed" intimate moments.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
For the woman who wanted to draw attention to her legs (and more), stockings with Cuban heels in dark accents like these returned to fashion in the early 1950's.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
The "Memphis Heel" style of seamed nylon stocking is truly Man Bait , espeically when paired up with a pair of iconic red soled Louboutin CFM pumps.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
Special full-fashioned heel designs are a throwback to the 1950's. The woman who wears them is obviously intending to catch attention and "more".

Cervin is a well-known brand of hosiery from France.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
Oh, my. A street scene like this could get me arrested for trying to take a video of these two leggy lovelies in point heel seamed nylons and those red soled, red hot Louboutins.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
This is the Memphis Heel full-fashioned seamed stocking design by GIO. Back in the 1950's, these were referred to as "novelty" or "party" style heels.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
This special outline heel treatment is called the "Manhattan Heel" and is offered by Gio. It leaves little doubt in the mind of the stocking connoisseur that the woman who is wearing them is sensuous as well as self-confident in the attention they will get.

There has been a resurgence of interest not only in real full-fashioned nylons, but those with unique heel designs that hearken back to the 1950's.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
The "point heel" style has an allure and glamour, especially in black. This pair appears to be the GIO brand upon closer examination versus the Artistoc "Harmony Points".

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
The advertising copy reads "The latest designs..."
The designs, left to right are "Framed heel, Silhouette heel and Mandolin heel" (apparently named after the stringed musical instrument with a long neck).

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
Party or "Novelty Heel" vintage nylons like these are so hard to find and treasured by the collector and aficionado.

These have the regular reinforced toe for strappy sandals or open-toe heels. The next photo has what the heel design looks like when wore with a pair of vintage Spring-o-lator mules.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
Special designs on the heel of the stocking left no doubt that she who wore them liked the attention they drew to her legs. And when worn with a pair of rhinestone embedded Lucite heeled Spring-o-lator mules...well...va-Vah-VOOM!

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
This special outline heel treatment is called the "Manhattan Heel" and is offered by Gio. There has been a resurgence of interest not only in real full-fashioned nylons, but those with unique heel designs that hearken back to the 1950's.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
As the high heel of women's shoes became slimmer in the late 1950's, so did the heel reinforcement of m'lady's full-fashioned stockings.

The ad copy in the upper right reads: "This is the stocking heel designed to balance the small, sliver thin heels on shoes you're wearing now. It's fine sweep slenderizes ankles, too."

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
If this is the first time you've seen the superb retro pin-up stylings of model and photographer Mala Mastroberte, then you MUST go to see the rest of her wonderful collection here on Flickr.

Mala recreates modern day versions of Good Girl Art (GGA) images as seen on pulp novel covers and artwork by the likes of Gil Elvgren and other calendar artists of the glory days of GGA artwork.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
Eye catching leg glamour like these special "novelty heels" from the 1950's are extremely hard to find nowadays. Referred to as "Party Heels" in some vintage department store mail-order catalogs, the variations in the designs are amazing. True eye candy for the devoted connoisseur of leg art.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
An example of original packaging for nylon stockings with special features, like these Black Foot full-fashioned seamed nylons.

The foot and heel were a contrasting black color against the neutral color of the stocking's leg. Original packaging like this is very collectible and extremely rare, but places like eBay are where they may be found.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
I'm assuming that this is a very nice display of collectible nylon stocking ephemera that was so commonly seen in department stores hosiery section. It so happens that I also collect such items.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
Pictured here is an example of the "Picture Frame Heel", which may or may not be either vintage or a modern reproduction.

I'll do a little research to see if it is available from Secrets in Lace.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
A leg lover's delight from 1956! Full-fashioned seamed stockings were considered the "proper" fashion choice in hosiery for women at that time.

But Hanes and other brands of seamless stockings were making significant gains in market share at that time, especially with younger women.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
A wonderful example of what was referred to by the hosiery industry as the "novelty heel" back in the 1950's & 60's. This is a contemporary offering from France that certainly is guaranteed to turn heads and make new friends ! **wink**

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
Catching a glimpse of a woman wearing classic full-fashioned seamed stockings in public is a rare sight indeed. "ElliHH" and her husband have been very generous over the years sharing their candid shots of Elli, many in public places, wearing such alluring hosiery and stiletto high heels.

Her current presence here on Flickr is a bit limited but still very much appreciated. Thank you, Elli.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
There is no better surprise than to actually see a woman in seamed stockings in public. It's enough to make the heart skip a beat and the mind to do mental somersaults about who she is and why the seamed stockings!

Certainly there isn't any doubt that she is sophisticated, elegant and is well aware of the response she elicits from admiring leg men and envious women.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
"Sex Kitten" Brigette Bardot is posed rather provocatively here. Under closer examination, she's wearing fully-fashioned seamed stockings.

There are quite a few promotional photos of Miss Bardot in bare feet but this is one of the very few I have seen where those tell-tale reinforced heels indicated she's wearing nylon stockings.

Thanks to Colleen for posting this image. Her collection of female movie stars here on Flickr is absolutely fabulous.

Robyn Michaels - Dear Diary says:
Here is an excellent example of the "Point Heel" style of full-fashioned stocking, which was not as common in the USA as the squared-off top Cuban heel stocking was, but was in Europe. And in their day, there was no finer example than the Aristoc "Harmony Point". I'm quite fortunate to own a rather large collection of Harmony Points, which can be seen in my Album "493 Pairs of Sexy Shoes and Leggy Views."

If you click on the photo and see the full size version, I draw your attention to the "finishing marks", the two faint lines at the calf near the seam. True full-fashioned hosiery features these as they were designed into the stocking for a better fit at the calf.

And it goes without saying that nothing showcases off a pair of stunning gams than black seamed stockings and red patent stiletto heels.

Miss Legs, I salute you!

Nothing speaks of or best represents Leg Glamour than the Fully Fashioned seamed stocking. This gallery will try to find the best examples Full Fashioned Pin Ups or some of the more rare, or as they were called, "novelty stockings" that certainly left no doubt that the wearer was saying "Look at ME!" Shall we begin?
