I haven’t seen this flick before now but it’s a dark transfer and seems to be missing some chunks of scenes including opening titles. Hard to imagine it was edited this way originally.

excellent! Arrived sooner then expected. Not pristine picture quality- but if you like the magnificent Carol Connors- get it now!

Candy Goes to Hollywood is a essential legit "Classic" On the same level as Debbie Does Dallas, The Devil in Miss Jones and Deep Throat If you can get your hands on this laserdisc for a cheap price snatch it up It's very rare and out of print (Only seen it on Ebay once and it sold for over $25.00) over a decade ago It's also a Image Entertainment laserdisc = HQ home video release This is a must have laserdisc for any die hard collector's

Hollywood in a nutshell. Both meanings of getting fucked apply here.
(Repost of review previously published here. )
Writer/director Gail Palmer's adult comedy Candy Goes to Hollywood fails to live up to the standard set by its predecessor, Erotic Adventures of Candy (1978), but there are still some scattered charms to be found in the sequel. Carol Connors returns as the title airhead, a bubbly lass whose happy-go-lucky outlook keeps her afloat as she jump-starts her career in Tinseltown.
There aren't as many interesting actors this time around - no Georgina Spelvin or Paul Thomas to liven up the proceedings - but the punny character names provide chuckles, like lecherous TV talk show host Johnny Farson (Gary Grime) and pervy producer Samuel Goldicker (Turk Lyon). (Have you really even lived until you've seen…
This movie is super fun and wholesome. Also, it turns out Thora Birch's mom is almost as foxy as she is.
For the record, I watched the version without porn, so I'll still get into Heaven.

I have **officially** began a new, larger-than-life writing project around 💝🎀👛 Glamourous Golden Age Pornography 👛🎀💝 (aka stunning 70’s-80’s sexy films that r mostly eye-candy for *women* in terms of storytelling + the sex depicted + the MISE EN SCÈNE), and I’m freaking the fuck out tbh!
For my research (and admittedly, for personal pleasure also), I wish to talk to / interview / befriend as many classic erotica obsessedés from all over the world as possible — if you think you could have some juicy wisdom to contribute (and if you’re reading this, I’m pretty sure you do), comment a way of contacting you below…
This is the sequel to THE EROTIC ADVENTURES OF CANDY, and is the better film. Thora Birch’s mom Carol Connors is back in the lead role, this time heading to Hollywood where she gets hooked up with a sleazebag agent played by John Leslie who sends her out to numerous shows to get taken advantage off. The spoofs of the Tonight Show and The Gong Show are pretty fun, and John Leslie is actually a really good actor and holds the whole thing together. The real cult draw, and the reason why I had seen this one previously, is the appearance of pre-Plasmatics punk legend Wendy O. Williams doing a ping-pong ball show during the Gong Show spoof. So obviously this one is on the very top of all of your “Must See” lists.
More enjoyable overall, as it finds itself more of a plot to chase, and John Leslie gets a larger role as a Rizzo-ish manager for Candy's naive path. Not as inventive in terms of situations as the first, but it functions more as an actual movie at least, and paced better overall.
A face value reading of Candy Goes to Hollywood is that it's #MeToo: The Comedy ; a celebration of the casting couch culture. Upon consideration, though, I wonder whether it was instead a scathing satire taking some potshots at mainstream Hollywood under the guise of comedic porn. It's possible, from what I've gleaned, that director/co-writer Gail Palmer was little more than a fabricated front for some other director(s) and writer(s). I've yet to dive further, so for the time being I'll take it at face value that she was legit.
What's indisputably legit are the array of real, name brand products that are prominently displayed. We see Coca-Cola; Ballantine's Scotch & Gordon's Gin; and even an actual Mickey Mouse pocket watch! All…
