Trial will continue against fifth defendant alleged to have run £1.2m sex racket

Four people today admitted being involved in prostitution services offered by Liverpool escort agency Candy Girls .
Prosecutors leading a trial at Liverpool Crown Court allege the business was a smokescreen for a £1.2m sex racket.
They say brothers Leon and Karl Jackson masterminded a scheme run with Leon’s wife Andrea Stott and Karl’s ex-girlfriend Lilly Anne Harrison.
Martin Whiston is accused of being a driver for the “girls”, who company director Karl told police offered “companionship services”.
The five defendants all denied charges of controlling prostitution for gain and money laundering during seven days of evidence.
But as the prosecution case came to a close this afternoon, four of them decided to enter guilty pleas.
Leon, 34, said by prosecutors to be “the leading light”, was re arraigned before the jury and admitted both counts.
Stott, 32, Harrison, 38, and Whiston, 46, then all pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of aiding and abetting controlling prostitution for gain.
Leon stood with his head bowed and Stott cried in the dock as she, Harrison and Whiston also admitted money laundering.
Judge Neil Flewitt, QC, directed the jury to return formal guilty verdicts against the four accused.
Karl, 33, of Parkwood Road, Whiston, still denies both charges. The trial against him will resume tomorrow.
Leon and Stott, both of Holly Hey, Whiston; Harrison, of Parkwood Road, Whiston; and Whiston, of Oystermouth Road, Swansea, were remanded on bail.
The trial has heard Candy Girls raked in at least £950,000 and forked out £250,000 on adverts over a six-year period.
Accounts connected to the brothers, company secretary Stott, and receptionist Harrison, showed unknown deposits of around £850,000 and cash deposits of approximately £100,000.
The jury have also heard from a couple who said they had a “fantasy” threesome with a woman booked from the company.
