Candace Anderson is a woman who became famous in 1986 after she released a video in which she told a roomful of people to stop eating meat and to eat only plants. The video was shot in a restaurant in New York. Candace was arrested, fined and imprisoned in the United States for two weeks for violating the law on animal cruelty. In 1994 Candace moved to France, where she was a star of French television. Anderson is known for her radical ideas about animal rights and vegetarianism.
