So today I had presentation to do on chemical conductivity in my engineering class but considering the profession i’m studying in is male dominated I took it upon myself to educate the classroom and professor on rape culture and some other un familiar terms.
I proceeded to explain how anyone of my classmates could be potential “Schrödinger’s Rapists” when my professor cut “Alice isn’t this a little off topic?” His smile curdled like sour milk. I figured he would resort to victim blaming but I had a graph at the ready to shut him right up.
It wasn’t long till I the tension eased and the threat of rape diminished and I was then capable of continuing with my presentation.

This blog escapade started in 2012 as a joke - to call attention to the obnoxious attitudes that emerge when one rocks a Canada Goose jacket.
And almost three years later, mission accomplished
- Canada Douche on Urban Dictionary - Canada Douche on a MTV blog - Canada Douche mentioned on an ABC News blog although it argues pro Canada Goose - Hashtags all over Twitter and Instagram, etc.
The problem now is that people are knowingly acting like Canada Douches and are “okay” with it. Simply hashtagging or calling attention to their douchery in some ways alleviates them from their obnoxious attitudes. Canada Douche isn’t saying that - it’s just how it is. I guess “meta” is the word I’m leaning towards.
Anywaaaaaaaays. Canada Douche is going to stop making snippy remarks and posting pictures we find.
However, if we receive good pictures with awesome captions, we’ll be posting those - anonymously of course.
This is late, but I can say Canada Douche has made it when someone dresses up as a “Canada Douche” for Halloween. So much win. Thank you, whoever you are!
Looks like 3 years after this blog’s inception people are douchier than ever!
Was there really any doubt? There were a lot of responses but none were as passionate and hilarious as U of T’s. Here are just a few of the reasons:
1. Literally birds of the same feather flock together, walk incredibly slow, and block the sidewalk so you have to push through to get ahead. 2. They wear the jacket, drink Starbucks exclusively, use only the latest Apple products, and still complain that tuition is too high. 3. Even though the many different groups vary in ethnic backgrounds, they all appear to speak the same bird-oriented language used to give themselves a sense of entitlement upon ownership of the jacket. 4. Some of those jackets are REALLY dirty. Like grade-schooler-rolling-on-mud- at-recess-dirty. But you know, its CG, were supposed to not care how dirty they are or not show any sign of displeasure when those jackets get too close.
5. Sometimes you see the hood and the fur thing stuck out (I don’t really know how to phrase this…) and people are not able to see in front of them. What this does, is cause the person to walk while only looking down, meaning everyone else on the street has to accommodate for this one idiot. 6. U of T is for the most part not socially friendly should you choose not to engage. That’s fine, its like that way for most of life I’d presume (no effort, no gain). However, when people buy the jackets to try to assimilate into groups or find friends (sadly I’ve seen this) that’s when you realize how anti-social some of these coyote killers are.
Other schools being considered as the Doucheist were York and Ryerson but a lot of their reasons were simply, “because there are a lot of them.” Well let’s look at some statistics from a 2011 study that calculated the number of full-time students:
As you can see, U of T’s number of students trumps the competition. Its higher number of students presents a higher plausibility of Canada Douchery. Furthermore, I tried to look into what schools have the most debt but realistically the average students finishes school with an average of $28,000 in debt, which takes an average of 14 years to pay off if you have a starting salary of $39,000 a year . But in case you’re wondering, here is the average tuition per year for the schools mentioned above:
University of Toronto - $5,613 - $5,943
University of Waterloo - $5,628 - $6,954
So there you have it! University of Toronto should be named as a tourist attraction for 2013 due to the amount of Canada Douches flocking around. We’re signing off for Spring and Summer but aren’t too sure if we’ll be back next season. We shall see. Anyways, thanks for all the love and laughs and NEVER STOP MAKING FUN OF CANADA DOUCHES!

I was picking out flowers for a cake I was making for my niece’s communion, and I thought the flower store made for a pretty backdrop for an #ootd post 🌸🌼🌺 (at Mississauga Greenhouse)
I look back at all the years I wasted worrying about what other people thought about me. I’d hide my “unacceptable” fat body because it was “not ok” to be fat. I’d exclusively wear plain, baggy clothes to avoid standing out. I wouldn’t bother with makeup, because I thought there was no point - a pig with lipstick is still a pig. I just wanted to disappear, because I thought no boy would ever possibly like me, and I would never look like those girls in the magazines, or even the popular girls at school. That was honestly one of toughest periods in my life. I thought it would never end - that my life would continue as a horrible existence of hiding my “ugly” self because I was not valid enough to be in this world. Today, I own my very own plus size clothing store, in hopes that I can help people feel better about themselves through beautiful, stylish clothing that actually fits. I don’t want anyone to ever feel the way I felt all those years ago. I know it’s a naive aspiration, because nobody could have ever convinced me that I actually was acceptable and worthy, but if I can relieve anyone’s pain, even just a little bit, through my store, and make people feel like they CAN be fashionable and feel beautiful, then it gives meaning to what I went though, and to this labour of love. Spring is coming! It was a long winter, with cyclone bombs, leaky roofs, and broken heaters, but the sun is finally shining, and roofs and heaters get fixed.
I’ve never embraced winter like I did this year. I went snow tubing, experienced an outdoor spa in the winter, and enjoyed #winterlude, an outdoor winter festival in Ottawa. I’m going kinda miss winter cause of all the wonderful memories I made this year, but looking forward to sunny warm days ahead!
Today’s a really great day. Today, I get to go through literally hundreds of applications from potential models who applied to model for my store for Friday’s photoshoot. There are so many GORGEOUS plus size babes out there, with so much confidence, charisma, and class, and I wanted them to know, that no matter what the outcome, they’re ALL winners, still GORGEOUS, and still FABULOUS!!! We’ve narrowed it down to a handful of models, and the selected model will be contacted today. Thank you so much to everyone who applied - I know first hand how intimidating it can be to put yourself out there like that! There will be lots of future opportunities 😘
