Do you ever need a super inexpensive but fun day for your kids? Is it a rainy day? Check out these camping party ideas for tons of kid activity fun! Itā€™s great to celebrate holidays and special days in daycare with kids.
I donā€™t like to do activities with my kids that cost a ton of money because I just donā€™t have it. But, I love to make them feel special and give them something to look forward to. Still, I canā€™t provide all the lavish things that money can buy to make it special. Is it a rainy day ? Check these ideas out.
So I improvise and use what I already have. I think kids donā€™t care about fancy stuff or the best of everything. Kids care about you wanting to spend time with them and this camping party idea is just that.
For our special camping day, we started by setting up a tent. We use this tent inside and outside all the time. I just happen to have this one Iā€™ve been using for years, but if you donā€™t have a tent, throw some blankets over a table or a rope and make your own. Kids love making forts and how much fun to have you get in it with them. It truly makes your camping party special.
Camping parties are super fun for a birthday celebration as well as a special day with your kids, either your own, or your daycare kids. These camping party ideas are great school activity as well. There is so much to learn.
We started our camping party by texting all the parents and telling them kids could wear their pajamas to daycare. I wore my pajamas for camping day too. The kids love when I participate with them.
I love to include families by having the kids do or bring something special. We had a race day today and I had each child bring their ā€œfastestā€ match box car. This helps parents feel like they are involved in the program. Click here to see more ways to involve families in your program and improve your relationships with them.
Dramatic play and pretend teach kids so much!

The next thing we did was plan out some camping activities. We built a ā€œfireā€, ā€œroastedā€ marshmallows, had story time (in the dark) and had a picnic lunch in the tent.
Imagination is great for camping party ideas. We built our fire outside of the tent. We used Lincoln logs for the logs and put some Duplo blocks around them for the rocks to keep the fire in the pit. As the kids were lighting their matches and trying to catch our imaginary kindling on fire, I threw orange Lincoln logs into the fire pit for flames. They loved it!
Then I gave the kids marshmallows on skewers and we ā€œroastedā€ them for pretend over the fire. You could tell the kid had done it before because they pretended like their marshmallows caught on fire and blew them out. It was so cute. I love seeing how they have learned things by doing them with their families before.
Then we turned off all the lights and closed down all the shades to make it dark in the house. I gave the kids each a glow necklace to wear and we all got in the tent and I read stories to them with a flashlight. We have a shine a light book that made it extra fun.
After story time, we ate our picnic lunch inside the tent. It was super fun. I felt really close to the kids like we had bonded around our campfire and in our tent. If you are looking for a fun activity to do with your kids, a camping party is lots of fun and it doesnā€™t have to cost a lot or take a ton of work.
I think simple is best. Who wants to kill themselves planning and executing a party when you can have just as much fun doing something simple.
A few of my daycare parents sent some super cute camping snacks that we had in the afternoon. That made the party even more special and was more parent involvement for all of us to enjoy. Throw a special party for your kids today.
Itā€™s so much fun to participate with them and be a kid too. You will really learn to love parenting or your job as a daycare provider if you learn to let loose and have more fun with the kids. It helps you see how truly valuable they really are.

This easy printable butterfly kisses Motherā€™s day card is a great simple way to let your kidā€™s moms know how much she means.
Learning about how polar animals survive in the severe cold in the arctic is so interesting and fun. My kids have learned so much from these polar animals activities.
With just a few supplies that you probably already have, you can put together home daycare activities in 5 minutes or even less. You donā€™t have to have a bunch of fancy lesson plans or every supply known to man to do a great job of running a home daycare.
Creative kids grow up to be creative adults that will change the future of our world with their ideas. A kids art party is a great way to nurture that creativity.

Where are our fiends of the outdoors at? If you love camping (or glamping!), you'll adore this fun party idea inspired by all the fun and adventure that comes with getting outside. Whether you recreate just this party or all of the parties in this series , you're on your way to throwing a super cute camping party for the kids!
We'll also learn a delicious s'mores donut sandwich recipe which takes only five minutes to prepare and ten to bake, complete with easy steps for the kids to help with. They make the perfect campfire treat, and trust me, the kids (and adults) will be raving about them all night long.
Whether you set up camp at a campsite, your backyard, or even in your living
room, this party allows kidsā€™ minds to roam free and gets the creativity flowing. To stay cool, we set up our camping party indoors: the perfect setting for any time of year!
Using items that you already have in your home is easy when you're throwing a camping themed party. Tents, rugs, pillows, and festive mugs are a must! Here are two ways to make your party cozy:
For our camping party, we set up an indoor tent and added a soft accent rug and comfy pillows, which made for the perfect nook in which to read, while sip on hot cocoa, and of course, munch on trail mix. It was so cozy that my daughter even took a quick nap in the tent during the party. True story!
If you don't have a traditional tent, you can fashion one out of big blankets and chairs, just like a pillow fort. I created a fun balloon garland and added some greenery to complete the atmosphere. It made our tent feel comfy and inviting!
To complete my party dƩcor, I also set up a kids' table with the cutest bear plates, wooden utensils, and star cups. I visited the floral department at my local craft store to purchase artificial flowers and greenery, and designed a pretty arrangement inspired by the outdoors, which then became the centerpiece for the kids' table. For place settings, I designed adorable DIY "happy camper" name tags.
One of the best parts of camping is making your own yummy meals right over the fire. We all know that there's no party without a campfire treat, so whether you're going for sweet, savory, or a little bit of both, make sure every party guest has something to munch on.
Bring the spirit of camping right into your home with these rustic and sweet donut sandwiches! Just like the s'mores you made around the campfire as a kid, they're filled with gooey marshmallows and melty chocolate. Don't forget to top them off with graham cracker crumbs for the full effect!

If you're celebrating a birthday party, be sure to include a camping themed cake. Our naked cake was decorated with an adorable little bear holding a camping light. Too cute!
For a camping themed party, a trail mix bar is a must. It's easy to set up and I promise it will be the highlight of your party and a fun experience for the kids!
Simply fill up empty jars with dried fruit, nuts, chocolate chips, and seeds. Make mini cans or treat bags available so your guests can help themselves.
Last but not least, let's not forget the hot cocoa. For the perfect campfire hot cocoa, put together the dry ingredients - such as cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon and salt - in a sealed bag for the guests. Make marshmallows available in a separate container. Allow your guests to mix the ingredients with warm milk to provide the ultimate hot cocoa making experience.
After everyone has had time to enjoy your party indoors, it's time to take the kids on a fun nature walk with a scavenger hunt included. I used Nellie's Free Range Egg cartons to create fun camping treasure boxes for the kids. Simply print our free scavenger hunt activity cards and attach them ( front and back ) to the egg carton. The kids will have fun filling up each egg cavity with their findings.
I hope you enjoyed these fun camping party ideas, friends!
