Cooperation ties between Cameroon and the Vatican is expected to be further consolidated after discussions Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute had with the Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, Mgr Julio Murat on Thursday, March 7, 2019.
Talking to the press after the audience, the Apostolic Nuncio said it was his first visit to Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute since his appoint ment to the new office of Prime Minister. He therefore came to congratulate Joseph Dion Ngute on his appointment.
He disclosed that he also used the occasion to express the solicitude of the Holy See and Holy Father Pope Francis to Cameroon. The Vatican was more concerned about peace reigning again in Cameroon.
This is because the country is facing security challenges with the Boko Haram insurgency in the Northern part of the country and the socio-political crisis in the North West and South West Regions.
