@Just a White Cat. Yeah, I believe getting all the secret signals using radios for "Transmission Received" is built the same way. As far as I know it's that way with all Valve "collection" achievements. "Lamba Locator" and "Get Some Grub" from Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode 2, respectively, are probably the more involved ones from Valve's games. "Camera Shy" isn't too bad since Portal's a short game, but it can be a pain to have to restart if you miss a camera. If you die though and just reload, as long as you haven't gone beyond the camera, you can keep trying. Only "new game" restarts to 0 cameras. Best of luck if you give it another shot!
i gave up with this when i realised if you use "new game" it resets the achievement
Thanks for the guide. I have just returned to the game to complete my achievements (the only run I had up to this point was way back in 2008) and this proved very helpful.

If this didn't work for you.. you are placing the portal on the camera too quickly. if you don't have the orange portal make sure that is placed before you portal the camera and after you have both portals place them both before hitting the camera. It took me 4 attempts to get this Achievement but just got it now

A: You DO NOT have to get the cameras that are mounted on black walls. Those do not count toward the achievement. Besides, you can't knock them down anyways...
