In Moldova, mobile communication failures are observed among Moldcell subscribers. The company confirmed that some users are experiencing problems when making calls and sending SMS.
According to the operator, the problems mainly affect the central districts of Chisinau and major cities, but some complaints are received from the regions. The glitch started on the morning of March 12th and is ongoing at the time of publication.
Moldcell stated that technical specialists are already working on troubleshooting. According to preliminary data, the failures are related to equipment upgrades on the data network, which temporarily limited the capabilities of mobile users.
The company noted that the number of affected subscribers is about 15-20% of the total base, but the exact statistics are still being clarified. Users are advised to temporarily use alternative means of communication, including Internet messengers and WiFi calls.
The situation has caused an increase in calls to the operator's support service. Moldcell promised to inform customers about the progress in network restoration and gave an estimated troubleshooting period — by the end of the day.
