Cheeky photos were deemed too rude for Facebook but now the University of Warwick students hope the social network's U-turn will boost Macmillan coffers
Female rowers behind a naked calendar branded "pornographic" by Facebook hope to add to a £5,000 charity haul when it goes on sale tomorrow.
The cheeky calendar – a fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support – eventually had its page on the popular social network reinstated after a public outcry.
And now the University of Warwick students hope that their third calendar can continue to boost the bank of the worthy cancer cause.
The rowers caused controversy earlier this year when their cheeky charity efforts were deemed too rude for Facebook, which has around 845 million users.
And they were left devastated after the Calfornia-based web giant completely removed their page - which featured black-and-white nude photos - claiming it contained "explicitly sexual content".
The girls were told they were breaching the nudity and pornography policy - but their Warwick Rowing's Women's Naked Calendar page was eventually reinstated online.
The students say their new 2015 version is their best calendar yet.
Featuring 12 members of the posh uni's rowing club, the girls - aged between 18 and 21 - can be seen frolicking in their boat house on the River Avon in Barford, Warks.
Third-year history and politics student Sophie Bell, 20, who helped organise the 2015 calendar, said the girls have not held back with their latest efforts.
Sophie, from Upminster, Essex, said: "We were all disappointed when the page was removed because we are students so social media is one of the main ways we market and advertise the calendar.
"It really hurt us when it was branded as porn because that is exactly the opposite of what we want to do.
"We are all strong-minded women and our first thought is to make sure the shots are tastefully done so it makes a calendar we can all be proud of.
"We have raised more than £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and thought we might struggle to sell as many of the 2015 calendars without Facebook.
"Thankfully, due to the support of our loyal fans, they saw sense and put the page back up again and the girls are really looking forward to selling as many as we can to our fans all over the world."
The cheeky photos were shot this summer.
"The girls really got into the spirit and I think the final images make this our best ever calendar," said Sophie.
Their 2015 calendar has already had more than 200 pre-orders from across the globe, including from the Gay and Lesbian Rowing Federation in Boston, USA.
Now the girls hope they can raise even more money with their latest - more risqué - version, which is priced at £6.99 and available here.
