CTFClub 06.10.24 announcement (Shellcoding Basics. Lecture with an expert)
✋ Hello everyone, this is CTFClub!
📕 Autumn is in full swing, as are our events! Next Sunday we will start our classic section "Lectures with an expert"
😱 The invited lecturer will be Artur Khanov: senior tutor of SPbSU and ITMO, programmer of Lanit telecom, participant and organizer of CTF competitions with tremendous experience, scientist and developer of projects related to antiviruses and code protection!
🤓 The lecture's topic will be "The basics of shellcoding". A shell code is a small piece of code that is used as a payload when exploiting software vulnerabilities.
📚 At the lecture, we are going to:
▪️ Define the basic set of tools
▪️ Learn how to determine the exploitability of a vulnerability
▪️ Find out what a NOP trace and JMP are
▪️ Take a look at the types of shell codes and their packaging formats
▪️ Solve some tasks on the topic
🟩 2 green tickets will be awarded as part of the selection for the ITMOteam! It can be obtained by the listeners who will be IRL, offline. In order to get a ticket, you need to actively participate in the lecture :)
