2018 Bali gubernatorial electionThe 2018 Bali gubernatorial election took place on 27 June 2018 as part of the simultaneous local elections in Indonesia. It was held to elect the governor of Bali along with their deputy for five-year term (2018–2023), whilst members of the Bali Regional House of Representatives will be re-elected in 2019. Incumbent I Made Mangku Pastika was barred from participating in the re-elections after having served two full terms. Contesting the election were Denpasar mayor Ida Bagus Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra and People's Representative Council member I Wayan Koster.

I Wayan KosterI Wayan Koster (Balinese: ᬇ​ᬯᬬᬦ᭄​ᬓᭀᬲ᭄ᬢᭂᬃ; born 20 October 1962) is an Indonesian politician and economist who is the 9th governor of Bali, serving in 2018–2023 and since February 2025. He was a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) representing the province of Bali from 2004 to 2018 from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) Faction. Before becoming a politician, he was involved in education, Koster studied at Bandung Institute of Technology and Jakarta State University before becoming a lecturer and eventually joining Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle. In the 2014 Indonesian legislative election, Koster was the holder of the most votes in the Bali province electoral with 260,342 of votes, a three-term parliamentarian representing his home province. Koster was once a researcher at the Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Education and Culture (1988–1994) and also a lecturer at several state and private universities (1994–2004). He became a figure in the Hindu community by serving as Deputy Secretary General of the Indonesian Hindu Youth Association (IHYA/PERADAH Indonesia) and Secretary General of the Tax Base Prajaniti Hindu Indonesia.

2024 Bali gubernatorial electionThe 2024 Bali gubernatorial election was held on 27 November 2024, as part of 2024 Indonesian local elections across Indonesia, to elect the governor and vice governor of Bali for a five-year term (2025-2030). The 2024 Bali gubernatorial election competition was enlivened by two gubernatorial candidates, one of whom has a boxing background and a leader of the Gerindra Party of Bali, namely Made Muliawan Arya known as De Gadjah, supported by several different parties that were members of the national alliance Advanced Indonesia, including Gerindra Party, Golkar Party, Democratic Party, and PSI. Meanwhile, the other candidate was the former governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster, who was controversial because of his rejection of the Israeli national team at the U20 World Cup in Bali in 2023. Koster was again supported by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) and other parties that alliance with the PDI-P in Bali. For the result, I Wayan Koster defeated Made Muliawan Arya in the election, winning more than 61% of the vote.

It was founded in 2018 by an entrepreneur, Putu Ayu Sita Laksmi. Bali representatives have not yet won the Miss Grand Indonesia title. Giri Prasta was a member and speaker of the Badung Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) from 2004 to 2015. He was a regent of Badung for two terms, Giri Prasta won the 2015 and 2020 Badung regent elections.
