Purchase the Minecraft: Java Edition from minecraft.net/en-us/store/minecraft-java-edition. It is crucial to purchase only the Java Edition. Our class framework works only with the Java Edition of the game.
Download your copy of Minecraft: Java Edition from minecraft.net/en-us/download. Minecraft is available for Windows, MacOS, Debian Linux, and Arch Linux. Note: We can't guarantee the functionality of this mod on Arch Linux. If you are running Arch, or another distribution Please contact an instructor through Discord or ELMS.
Run the Minecraft: Java Edition launcher at least at least once. You must sign in with the account you have created to confirm that your purchase went through. This will ensure that the mod generates the necessary program files. This is an essential step that you shouldn't do!
Download and run the recommended installer from files.minecraftforge.net/maven/net/minecraftforge/forge/index_1.15.2.html. The button you'd like to click should look something like this:
Check that the forge installer runs correctly and recognizes your Minecraft installation. Minecraft.
Open Minecraft and select 'forge' as the profile on the launcher screen. Wait for Minecraft to finish loading.
Click the 'mods' dialog on the game's home screen. Next, click the mods screen and click 'Open Mods Folder.
Navigate to github.com/CMSC-389E/mod-framework-and-testing-framework/releases and download the latest version of the mod.
Save this mod file as is (it should be called something along the lines of circuitry-1.15.2-X.X.X.jar) and move it into the Mods folder you opened in the previous step.
Start the game once more and go to the "mods" screen. Check that the CMSC389E Circuitry mod has been installed.
