List of leaders of the opposition of QuebecThis is a list of the leaders of the opposition party of Quebec, Canada since Confederation (1867). Note that the leader of the opposition is not always the leader of the political party with the second-largest number of seats, in cases where the leader of that party does not have a seat. There was no leader of the official opposition until March 1869, when the government's second budget was introduced.
Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen song)"Hallelujah" is a song written by Canadian singer Leonard Cohen, originally released on his album Various Positions (1984). Achieving little initial success, the song found greater popular acclaim through a new version recorded by John Cale in 1991. Cale's version inspired a 1994 recording by Jeff Buckley that in 2004 was ranked number 259 on Rolling Stone's "the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time". The song achieved widespread popularity after Cale's version of it was featured in the 2001 film Shrek. Many other arrangements have been performed in recordings and in concert, with more than 300 versions known as of 2008. The song has been used in film and television soundtracks and televised talent contests. "Hallelujah" experienced renewed interest following Cohen's death in November 2016 and re-appeared on international singles charts, including entering the American Billboard Hot 100 for the first time.

Juno Awards of 2023The Juno Awards of 2023 was a music awards ceremony that was held on 13 March 2023 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta. It recognized the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year determined by the members of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. It returned to its usual March schedule for the first time since 2019 after COVID-19 pandemic had the last three events took place in June 2020, May 2021, and May 2022, respectively. Canadian actor Simu Liu, who hosted the 2022 ceremony, returned to host again. The Weeknd received the most nominations (six) and had the most wins (five), followed by Avril Lavigne and Tate McRae with five nominations each, and Reklaws, Shawn Mendes, Preston Pablo and Banx & Ranx with three nominations each. With the six nominations, The Weeknd matched his personal records for both 2016 and 2021. During the televised show, a topless protester crashed Avril Lavigne's introduction of AP Dhillon.
Juno Award for Classical Album of the Year – Small EnsembleThe Juno Award for Classical Album of the Year - Small Ensemble is an annual Canadian music award, presented by the Juno Awards to honour classical music recordings by small classical ensembles, such as chamber orchestras or collaborations between individual performers. It was presented for the first time at the Juno Awards of 2022, as a split of the former category for Classical Album of the Year – Solo or Chamber Ensemble into separate awards for small ensembles and soloists. The category for Classical Album of the Year – Vocal or Choral Performance was also concurrently discontinued.
Elinor FreyElinor Frey (born August 23, 1979) is a Canadian-American cellist, specializing in music of the eighteenth century. She specializes in the music of underperformed composers from the later part of the baroque era, and has recorded this repertoire on the Passacaille label. In addition to her main focus on early music, she has a background in contemporary music, and has commissioned new works for the baroque cello, recording several of them.
Claude LapalmeClaude Lapalme is a Canadian conductor, arranger, orchestrator and composer. He presently holds the position of Music Director of the Red Deer Symphony and is also the Artistic Director of the Calgary-based baroque orchestra Rosa Barocca. His continued tenure with the Red Deer Symphony, which started in 1990, is one of the longest in Canadian history as leader of a Canadian professional orchestra.
