Bare-bottomed bathers on China's only nudist beach have been ordered to cover up by the local government in a bid to create a 'civilised social environment'.
The local council said they had been forced to act after being flooded with complaints particularly from families who said they could not go there with their children because of the large number of naked men.
They confirmed that the nude sunbathers were always men, adding that was no problem with women stripping off their clothes on the beach.
And as these pictures show officials in Sanya, a resort town on the tropical island of Hainan, have now descended on the Dadonghai beach with orders to clothe dozens of naked sun worshippers.

They handed out leaflets outlining the Communist Party's ban on all 'nude swimming or sunbathing' on the beach, a 1.4-mile crescent of sand along the South China Sea near a People's Liberation Army base.
The officials ordered naked bathers to put their trunks back on - the beach has been known as China's top nudist destination for more than a decade despite never having been officially recognised by the government.
Nudity is not tolerated in China and it is usually only seen when protestors decide to strip off to get attention for their cause.
The Naked Historian, a British blog about naturism, describes Dadonghai as China's 'one and only nudist beach.'
The 'colony' also receives a mention in the Rough Guide to China, which warns potential visitors that the beach is mostly frequented by 'Chinese men well past the first bloom of youth.'
China News Service reported 'Violators will be punished in accordance with the nature of their offence.'
The beach is particularly popular with men from the north of the country looking to escape from the cold and enjoy the warm weather..
But local mother Yi Min Tseng said: 'I don't bring my children here any more because I don't want them staring at these naked men. Sometimes there is only a couple but especially at this time of year that can be up to 100. They swim or lie around and do great damage to the image of the beach. It is great that the government are finally doing something about it.'.n
