The Cameroon democratic Union has joined the campaign fray in Douala by organising a campaign rally at the Bessengue junction in Douala in support of the party’s presidential candidate, Adama Ndam Njoya. Speaking during the rally, the first Vice President of the party, Sam Baka said he had come to give the message of peace to Cameroonians.
He said the party leader is a crusader for peace who has brokered peace in nearby Central African Republic, South Africa and Sarajevo as well established the inter- religious dialogue in the north of the country and therefore there is no reason why he shouldn’t do the same in his country. “The world is demanding peace in Cameroon, peace is more important than elections”, he said.
CDU wants Cameroonians to live together in peace he said adding that “CDU has a manifesto that can solve all Cameroon’s problems but that the pre-requisite is peace. He said Cameroon as locomotive of the central African region is supposed to stand up and uphold respect for ethics and morality.
The campaign rally was followed by a march round some of the major streets of the economic capital from Bessengue to New Bell passing through Lewat hotel, Feu rouge Bessengue, Trois Boutiques, Ancien Dalip, Nkongmondo roundabout, Shell New Bell, Mairie Douala 2e, Deux Eglises, Camp Yabassi, Nkololoun market, Service Social New Bell and quartier Bagangte where they had another rally.
