CBE to Halt Digital Services for Major System Upgrade

The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), the nation's largest bank, will suspend all digital and core banking services for over 12 hours for a major system overhaul. According to the Bank, the shutdown will take place from 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025, until 3:30 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, affecting mobile banking, internet banking, ATMs, and point-of-sale (POS) machines.
