Born in 1968 in Tokyo, made her film debut in 1988 in “Bakayaro! I'm Plenty Mad.” The next year she played the leading role in Nobuhiro Suwa’s “M/OTHER,” which won the International Critics Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. For her role in Ryota Nakano’s 2013 film “Capturing Dad” she received the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 7th Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong, the 55th Asia-Pacific Film Festival and the 35th Yokohama Film Festival.
