Columbia univ teachers college (Columbia) At 16, I was diagnosed with cancer. Any dreams and hopes I had were suddenly replaced by months in the hospital. With my family's support, I would eventually win the battle for my life and go on to thrive as a student at the Universities at Shady Grove. Once there, I was fortunate enough to receive a prestigious Kendall Scholarship, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Maryland, College Park.
