I will not be taking a trip to crete, I may be moving there for about three years. How much does it cost to travel in the area from island to island. Can you boat or is it all flying? Best places are Elafonissos and Falasarna on the west coast. In ten days I had maybe 4 days of wind. Both are large beaches, winds were cross-on, waves up to 1 m. For family it's great and the food is excellent. Probably the best food i've ever had anywhere. We were staying at Kissamos Bay, which is a nice bay, but too well protected from the wind. Nearby on the Northwest tip of the island is also a nice spot with a beautiful lagoon Balos if I remember well , but you can only get there by tourist boat daytrips, with 3 hour stay or long hike.
