A teenage girl was tortured and executed by drug dealers in Brazil after complaining online about the quality of their cannabis. Victim Gabriela da Silva Pereira, 16, took to social media September 2 to claim that the drugs she had bought in Caceres , in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, were substandard. Within hours she had been snatched off the street and taken to an address where she suffered horrific torture before she was killed, police said. The police said two suspects, aged 20 and 24, admitted to the brutal execution. They told police they killed her because they thought her post was social media propaganda for a rival drugs faction. Marlon Nogueira, who is head of the investigation, confirmed she had been marked for death because she 'appeared to belong to a rival criminal faction. Nogueira said: 'The victim did a live broadcast, in which he criticised the cannabis sold by the criminal organisation that ordered her death, with the action being interpreted as propaganda for the rival faction. Meanwhile cocaine dumped into the sea by drug traffickers in Brazil may be affecting sharks and changing their behaviour, scientists have said. The concerning findings came after researchers said sharks could be ingesting the substance after illegal drug labs drained their chemical waste into the sea. It was also possible the creatures were feeding on bales of cocaine that were lost or dumped overboard by drug smugglers, though unlikely, the team said.
