TDT Manama. The High Criminal Court has sentenced an Asian man and an African man to 10 years in prison each for peddling drugs. Their activities came to light after police officers received a tip-off revealing that the Asian man was involved in drug trafficking. An undercover agent was assigned to catch the defendant red-handed by setting up a sting operation to get him to sell drugs. The agent in plain clothes agreed with the suspect to buy from him drugs at a street value of BD60, and they decided to meet at a remote place in Gudaibiya. The suspect was arrested after delivering the drugs to the agent, and he confessed to buying the drugs from the African man. He expressed his readiness to help get him caught in a sting operation. He reportedly contacted him, requesting to buy drugs worth BD50, and they agreed to meet in Adliya. The pair met before the eyes of the police officers who rushed to capture the second defendant after handing him the drugs. He attempted to run away but was eventually held down.
