A council in Kazakhstan has launched an investigation after thousands of marijuana plants appear to have been planted in the capital's flowerbeds. Images from Astana City appear to show lush, green plants resembling marijuana thriving in lengthy plots. Because in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan, some street verges seem to have a bit of a weed problem. Tens of thousands of what appear to be cannabis plants have been installed on two major streets in the city. The specimens are now thriving at the corner of Auezov and Dzhangeldina. There have also been sightings in front of the city's Tree of Life Sculpture. It's not known how the unusual plant borders came to be, but the council in Astana is investigating. A spokesman said: 'An investigation has been launched. If they are marijuana plants as is alleged on social media, we will remove them immediately.
