I am one of the many voters who voted for Proposition , the Compassionate Use Act for medical cannabis in What I was not aware of at the time was the continuing struggle that Mr. Peron, friends, and patients went through to actually make this a reality for those of us who are truly ill. I found this book to be very enlightening as to the struggles and persecution that Mr. Peron and company went through for the benefit of sick people in our state. But there is also quite a bit of humor in this book. The stories related make you feel almost as if you were there yourself. I highly recommend this book to any and all who want to educate themselves on the freedom that Mr. Peron has given us through his political activism, being arrested several times, and persecution from our federal government. In an area whose subject matter is dominated by histories of the War on Drugs it is great to see a biography that begins to write down history on the efforts to legalize Medical Marijuana. I am grateful that Dennis Peron took the time to put his experiences and memories down in writing. The history of marijuana prohibition is a subject where there are few primary sources on the activists involved and history to legalize it. This will become one of the essential historical sources of that period. Great read. I sure do miss his club. I've read many books about the marijuana reform movement, and this is the best to date.
