For this reason it alone wouldn't be worth starting with an Arosa you would just find a Gti with decent body work and go from there. Hands up how many people on here have the 1. Quite a number, if I remember.. If you were going to go bother going to the trouble of doing the conversion you would want an engine and gearbox with low milage If it was me personally i'd choose the bam edition which im sure your aware wont come cheap.. Then your going to need custom engine and gearbox mounts fabricating. The loom is a world apart from that of the gti so this would need modifying by an auto electrician, the dash would need to be removed completely to match this with the interior loom.. Most people would use a standalone ecu which would need extensive mapping.. Custom exhaust system, uprated brakes, custom driveshafts etc etc.. In my opinion if you managed to convert it for 5k you would be VERY lucky im sure anyone who has carried out the conversion will agree. To be brutally honest mate you dont know your arse from your elbow when it comes to cars.. I have seen post after post of asking about tuning your 1ltr amongst other ridiculous topics so I dont really think your in a position to ridicule anyone.. Now Now Ladies. Also if you have alook not many people actualy use the tt bam lump for the reason that its so expensive. Picking up a writen off golf isn't so hard or expensive. So there's my 2p's worth. That said he may well have 'generous friends with skills' but thats irrelevant IMO Im sure your right stating that not many people use the BAM engine due to the costs, but surely if your forking out on this sort of conversion money isn't really an issue? As far as im aware the BAM engine has strengthened internals which is an advantage when looking for big power. But point granted all the same..
