Space is optimized — sleeping quarters are snug, meaning that more of the boat is open from everyone to enjoy. Cabins are allotted by the skipper based on the gender and traveller make-up of the group. We believe single travellers should not have to pay more to travel so our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a single supplement. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip. The sleeping quarters on sailboats are generally kept to a minimum size in order to maximize public space and performance. Most travel is done during the day, so it is unlikely you will be in the cabin when the engine is running. Please note that this is not suitable for sleeping aid machines, as the power source may not always be operating. Bringing a battery pack is recommended. Space is limited on the boat and especially in your cabin. You can only take soft sided luggage on board, such as a mid-sized backpack or soft duffel bag. Less than is 15kgs Suitcases are not appropriate for our Sailing adventures as they are not pliable enough to fit into the niches available for luggage. Fresh water is very limited on board, and as such we ask for your understanding that showers are limited to one quick shower per person a day. It's important to note that the beds in the cabins are not the usual length of a standard bed. The length is approximately 1. Electrical outlets on board are European style with 2 pins V , and are only operational while in port. It is recommended to bring an external battery pack for charging personal electronics. This is a self-catering trip, and everybody will be expected to participate, cleaning up after themselves, and keeping the boat ship shape at all times including washing the dishes, and emptying the bins when ashore. You should be physically able, and comfortable, to move about in such conditions. As such, the staff and some travel companions on your tour may have previously been traveling together with G Adventures, prior to Day 1 of your tour. Likewise, some staff and travel companions may be continuing together on another G Adventures tour, after your trip concludes. Eating is a big part of traveling. We booked a trip to Peru in January of and paid in full. This was a huge mistake because once the pandemic hit, in May we requested a refund. On November 24 we are still waiting to receive our money and are continually told 'just another 6 weeks' from G adventures. They are completely dishonest and I would never travel with this company again after the way we have been treated. Avoid G Adventure like the Plague. Easter Island by G Adventures. Stole our deposit. I've previously traveled with G on 5 trips, plus sent my parents on a trip through them. With that in mind, I booked a trip in July that leaves in December, but the country is not yet even open to Americans so I cancelled it today. I was told that the refund will take at least 6 months! They do not have the money to refund customers and that is concerning and actually illegal in most jurisdictions. I will never book with them again and I would encourage you not to as well. You are only 3 days in a nice area with beaches and turquoise water. The other 4 days you traveling on water to bridge the large distance between Cienfuegos and the Canarreos Archipelago, seeing nothing else than blue water. The trip always took place with a motor, sometimes the sails were set to help, but never did the trip take place with sails only. Half of the people got seasickness on the first day because of due to the swell, it is really terrible if you hear constantly at night when people have to vomit some. Other travellers got sick later because of a stomach intestine virus spreading on the boat. If you enjoy lying on the deck all day long then it may be ok, for me it was a bit boring. Most of the travelers read books during the day and played cards in the evening, The beaches of the islands of Canarreos Archipelago, where you spend only little time of the journey, were nice but not more beautiful than the nice beaches on mainland cuba. There are far fewer people around, but with the disadvantage that there is less or none infrastructure. The cabins have different layouts. I was in a twin two single beds. The higher bed was very narrow, the lower bed much wider. Because the bed had no edge to prevent you from falling out, I was afraid every night that I could fall out, with serious consequences. To finish on a positive note, the food was good, especially considering that the cook only had limited ingredients available. I requested a refund back in April of for a now cancelled trip that was scheduled for August 1st obviously due to Covid The way their sales representatives are handling and treating their customers is extremely unprofessional, disappointing, and not justified. I am sick and tired of having the same conversation with different reps over the last few months over my refund request. This company is sketchy, and does not stick to their word.
