Кроме вряд ли практичной политической риторики лидеров наподобие Уго Чавеса Венесуэла и Эво Моралеса Боливия , на мировом избирательном рынке не предлагается ничего сколько-нибудь отличного от того, что обычно называется неолиберализмом или «Вашингтонским консенсусом». Иными словами, ни в одной современной стране нету больше борьбы между различными проектами, конфронтации левые-правые со всеми их оттенками , которая могла бы вызвать эмоциональный подъем у избирателей.
