Die Stadt ist interessant und das Flair unbeschreiblich. Allerdings haben wir in der zweiten Woche auch die anderen Seiten Rios kennengelernt. Читать далее. Es war wirklich toll bei Denise und Mitzi thuthu. Jetzt geht es in den Stadtteil Gloria mal sehen was uns da so erwartet. Aber wir lassen uns nicht so schnell unterkriegen. Und so kam es dann auch. Von dort konnten wir immerhin die Stadt Rio und den umliegenden Nationalpark mit seinem Regenwald bewundern, auch wenn sich der Zuckerhut vor uns in den Wolken versteckte. Von dort ging es dann zur Christusstatue bzw. Auch der Blick nach unten zeigt erstmal gar nichts. Wir hatten die leise Hoffnung, dass es ein wenig klarer wird und so kam es dann auch. Mit ein wenig warten, blitzte die Statue zwischen den Wolken hervor und die ein oder andere Gelegenheit bot sich auch die Stadt zu sehen. So war es jedenfalls noch bis vor ca. Seitdem sind hier Gangs unterwegs und es ist wohl deutlich ruhiger geworden nach Sonnenuntergang. Die Story dahinter ist jedoch ein wenig traurig. Daneben sind auch kleine Geschichten darauf zu finden und er hat sehr viel Geschick und Liebe in diese Arbeit gesteckt. Danach gingen wir dann gemeinsam Essen. Erster halt des heutigen Tages! Na da kommst ja mit ordentlich mukkis heim. Umso weniger, umso besser. Es galt erstmal Steffi etwas zu Essen zu holen, da sie sonst unruhig und missmutig wird. Wir schliefen in Botafogo, was eher als Residential Area gilt und auch als recht sicher einzustufen ist. Das Wetter wollte aber heute nicht so richtig mitspielen und war daher sehr wolkig, was aber den hohen Temperaturen keinen Abbruch tun sollte. Also ging es dann von der U-Bahnstation in Copacabana an ebendiesen Strand. Das Wasser war angenehm und der Sand fein. Wir gingen ins Wasser und blieben ein wenig am Strand liegen, bis es uns wieder zu langweilig wurde. Wir gingen den Strand weiter und bis an das Ende, wo sich dann ein paar Graffiti fanden, die der Weltmeisterschaft gewidmet waren. Mit unserem Strandoutfit passten wir dort nicht unbedingt rein, aber der Keller meinte es ginge in Ordnung. Die Portionen hier sind allgemein ziemlich riesig und so fanden wir beide auch unsere Meister bei den bestellten Gerichten. Hotel an der Copacabana. Das sind die Favelas, direkt hinter der Copacabana. Our favorite activity was definitely relaxing at the world famous 'Copacabana Beach'. Beer, Caipirinhas, bikinis and traditional food is sold everywhere. There are always circles of people playing football, volleyball and footvolley, a locally invented sport that is a combination of volleyball and football. At weekends there are also lots of events happening so that we could watch a stand up paddeling contest, boxing match and a gay-parade. We got a little taste of how crazy it will be at Copacabana Beach while carnival! We are staying in a hostel with many like-minded travelers who all enjoy to go on adventures together, plus there is a bar with happy hour in the hostel so it is very conducive to making friends. Last night we went out with our housemates in the Lapa neighborhood. It was quite an experience, and the group was out until 3 or 4 some later! There were several clubs crowded with people but also tons of street vendors for food and drink, and impromptu dance parties happening on the street. Imagine the party culture of Vegas but with way more people and more friendliness. Carnavale starts next week so we thought maybe there was more going on in preparation for that, but our hostel guide said that it is basically like this every weekend. Today we are hanging out at the beach with a new American friend. We did some body surfing and wave jumping as well as napped, read, and played cards. We should be at our hostel in 24 hours. After saying goodbye to Ilha grande, and wishing it was closer so we could come back It was an incredibly hot day so we shot straight down to Copacobana beach. Unfortunately we were instantly harassed by people trying us sell us stuff. They were relentless, a couple of people even squirted mustard on my sandals to then try and get me to pay to clean it off! Thankfully we cottoned on to their trick early enough and used the shower on the beach to clean them instead. It was crazy! Thankfully we were able to retreat to the roof of our hotel for some peace.
