Great accommodation also and just outside of the centre of town. Had a nice relaxing afternoon treat. Was a minute walk from the main square, uphill part of the way, so take a moto-taxi if you are not mobile. The waitress was very kind and sweet despite us not being as good at speaking Spanish as well as we should be. There is a large selection of artisan made chocolates, teas, tinctures, and spices, along with beautiful photographs. I appreciated the large selection of teas, choice of hot or cold. The chocolate drinks, hot, cold and choice of variation were obviously made the real way with true cocoa. My hot chocolate came with a side bowl of raw sweetener so the customer can add it to their taste. I had a ginger and Noni iced tea to cool down, and the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream was as good as I imagine it to be. My friend had an iced black tea and was very impressed with the chicken tamales. Great little place with all sorts of hand made products. Some for the skin and hair, others to eat. They have a small menu and amazing hot chocolate. This place is really beautiful and calm! They serve a variety of Tea and hot or cold chocolate as well as deserts. A lot of natural Medicine, herbs, mixtures of honey with various grains and a lot more. My recommendation is that if you are not staying close to this place you should take a tuc tuc 3 wheel small taxi to get there and back. The environment is very beautiful. A nice place to just sit back and relax and enjoy nature. This place is very beautiful, high quality cacao. Really cosy place to eat all kinds of chocolate, drink typical chocolate drinks, talk and listen about chocolate, its origin and processing. We had cold and warm chocolate with delactosed - its great that have this option milk, and both were amazing. You can buy various chocolate products here as well. Time well spent. Thank you! Very nice place for chilling and discovering the tea and chocolate. It has several hundred products ranging from tea, chocolate to insect repellant and medicinal drugs. It also has several 'monstras' one can try their wide range of chocolate, sauces and seeds. Finally, there is wifi and one can pay by card. Great place. A lot variety of the chocolate, sauces, teas. You can eat here too desert o tamales the view is amazing. The attention is good. Try the cold chocolate and the brownies Food it's unexpensive but the other items like soap, chocolate and spices are bit pricey but all worth it. Great place with fair prices if you want to avoid tourist traps. Amazing place. We arrived at and walked straight in so unsure if opening hours are correct. The owner? Gave us such a great explanation of what they were doing. Amazing honey purchased and insect repellent purchased. Lovely drinks and relaxing setting. Thank you. Nice place to relax in the afternoon, a little bit pricey. The hot chocolate is so delicious and raw, so natural. This place is incredible, the tea is extremely well prepared and delicious. They really empower you to flavor as you see fit and for me I loved this! Service is exceptional, people are friendly welcoming, I felt like I was home. The chocolate is legit I also had this plantain empanadas con frijoles thing it was vegan and was extremely Rico. If your into chocolate I would recommend coming here for a visit. Also have some really cool looking honey and natural products A very nice place to spend the afternoon with a good cup of tea. A beautiful place to relax and have some good chocolate. Plenty of free chocolate tastings and also great spicy sauces to try with tortilla chips. A hidden Gem! Everything was delicious but the torrejas were my favorite! Very very nice place, the location and ambiance was amazing. Bird watching area. This is one of my most favorite places on the planet. The macaw is a glorious bird and the work done here is just amazing. Go see some awesome birds up close. Be sure to buy some bird cookies to feed them from your hand. As an added bonus, take a swimsuit and towel. They recently added a great little swimming hole on the river. If you pack a lunch, your trip could easily be 4 or 5 hours. This was my favorite moment in Honduras! I had an unforgettable experience visiting this beautiful park. The variety of birds is astounding, and it's clear that they are well-cared for in their naturalistic habitats. The park is immaculately maintained, with lush surroundings that create a serene atmosphere perfect for a leisurely stroll. One of the highlights of my visit was getting up close to rare and exotic species. The interactive exhibits and feeding sessions are both educational and fun, making it an ideal destination for families and bird enthusiasts alike. It's easy to spend several hours here, soaking in the sights and sounds of nature. We loved this place. The birds are gorgeous. The heat of the day wasn't as strong on the sanctuary. I appreciate what they are doing to care for the national bird of Honduras and would encourage others to go, as ticket and gift shop sales fund the organization. Awesome bird rescue with a Macaw breeding program. The animals are beautiful to look at with an outdoor walking path. If you love animals or birds specifically check it out. If you're visiting Copan and don't visit 'Parque de Aves' you'll be missing out. Here, you'll see a wide variety of different birds in cages and also outside. The Scarlet Macaw roams around by the dozen in the trees above. It's a beautiful site to see. They really care about the birds. Taking care of them. The park was good and proper. The staff is well educated and want to tell you everything about their job and the birds. Beautifull plants and the enviroment is also amazing. Incredible rehabilitation center! Definitely worth the visit! They are doing incredible work! Everything was amazing. I went from Florida and was very disappointed about not taking pictures with the birds!!!! They don't take pictures anymore since covid, and I understand, but I wish they would've updated that online. That's a LIE! That's why I went Macaw mountain was beautiful! The river that runs along the exhibit is perfect all the birdlife look well taken care of. The keepers are well informed and knowledgeable of the macaws and you can tell they love the macaws. Beautiful place, and friendly staff!! Lots of information!! Loved it!! Excellent place! For the price it's quite reasonable. Translated by Google The place is very pleasant! The objective of the park is the reintroduction of these animals without their natural space. Even if I was apprehensive because many birds are in aviaries, I recommend! Way way way better than expected. Set in a beautiful river canyon, this sanctuary and hatchery boasts very nice birds in a super nice layout. Seems thoughtful and well planned start to finish. Workers all very friendly. Felt very good about spending money here while in Copan Ruinas. Very informative with many infographics to let you know what is what. Recommend for sure. Such a neat place, and a sanctuary as well! You can learn a lot from the staff and all the signs Great coffee too! Absolutely brilliant. Very beautiful. We were a bit concerned about caged birds but having been we appreciate what the centre is doing. We would have loved to have more Spanish to be able to talk to the staff better particularly about what they were doing with the birds that weren't Scarlet Macaws. We spent a good 5 minutes in the car park before entering trying to take a photo of a Macaw in a tree but when we went inside the flying Macaws almost knocked my wife's hat off! We found the birds that couldn't fly but sat outside in the interaction area particularly emotional. The whole place was lovely. This place is awesome. You walk through a forest like atmosphere that allows you to see as well as interact with various tropical birds including macaws and toucans. You even get to hold them and take pictures. Definitely worth it to go to. Absolutely worth the time and money to visit especially if you are an animal lover! We had a wonderful time wandering among the birds and learning all about the wonderful work that is being done to revitalize the native bird population of Copan. Well worth the visit. Beautiful location with aviaries set amongst tropical jungle. Also has free roaming scarlet macaws flying around. Well worth the limpira entry. Need a place to stay? Where Search destinations. Horseback riding, local cuisine, and hot springs to cap off the day! Outstanding experience! Highly recommended. Carlos is awesome. Specialty Museums. The museum boasts an extensive collection of Mayan art and artifacts related to the Copan civilization, providing valuable insights before venturing into the ruins. Despite some closures due to COVID, visitors can still appreciate genuine pieces and illustrations showcasing the remarkable architecture of Maya civilization. It is recommended to carry cash as card payment options may be unreliable. Wow, what a specular museum. A must see when visiting ruins. It is truly a work of art at its finest. We enjoyed walking around and had a tour guide explaining everything to us. They take dollars as well. A bit sad to see the replicas and low quality misrepresented pieces that remain. Now, in the 21st century the history of these orioles has been all but lost. We can only enjoy looking at the few pieces too large to move or too undesirable to be valuable that remain while using our imagination as to what society may have been like here so long ago. Still, there is are powerful lessons to be learned here and much to be reflected on. This small museum in particular is free right now, and one of the most professional displays in the country. Extensive collection of mayan art and an array of objects related to the copan civilization. It is advisable to visit this museum prior to the ruins site as you would have a better understanding of the whole thing after seeing the explanations in this museum. Closed please update google maps. Lots of genuine pieces and good illustrations. Great architecture of Maya civilization. The best to travel in Honduras!! A great experience. Mentioned on 6 lists. Luna Jaguar Spa Resort is a serene outdoor spa located in a nature reserve, just 45 minutes outside of Copan Ruinas. The spa features thermal pools with naturally hot water and was designed based on Mayan architecture and spiritual philosophies. Visitors can enjoy the breathtaking mountainous surroundings and clean, gorgeous hot springs for a calming and relaxing experience. The onsite restaurant offers affordable and fresh food, while the environment provides various temperature pools amidst beautiful forest scenery. Wonderfully relaxing!!! The nature spa is a great 1 day getaway that you must experience if you are near Copan. A few things for management to improve: 1- more sustainable options for water for your clients. Selling plastic bottles of water is not environmentally friendly. The thermal baths are very beautiful and picture worthy but there are a lot of drawbacks, first of all the access is very bad and you need a 4x4 just to get to the location, they do offer transportation but its a very bumpy ride and quite expensive, next the massage, I go to a lot of massage places and this one has to be the lowest rating in my opinion, it's more rubbing than an actual massage, making it painful if you have body hair, and to top it off it's quite expensive. Lastly the facial cleansing, it's very expensive and they really dont do anything, they just put a mud mask on and remove it, no treatment, no massage, no hot towel, nothing. It feels like a ripoff when you can do the same thing in the mud bath which is included in the entrance. I almost forgot to mention the 2 pools, both are in very poor conditions and always dirty. We got there at 10AM and no one was at the gate. It was open. So we went in.. And that we had to leave.. We have no idea the logic in opening a place up so late. But they should definitely change their hours to earlier.. Cause it says open from 2AM-7AM. Confusing cause we saw it was opened so we assumed it was fine to go. It's a lovely surprising hot water springs with loads of different pools to try. Absolutely breathtaking place. The hot springs are amazing and provide a very calming and relaxing experience. The spa is located right in the mountains, about a 30 minute drive from Copan Ruinas. The hot springs are gorgeous and very clean. We also got massages while we were here. So relaxing and a great way to finish off the day. Highly recommend this place to anyone craving some relaxation and a one of a kind experience! This lovely thermal water haven is incredible! Onsite resteraunt where food is very affordable and fresh to order. If you intend on eating here please inform the resteraunt of your order and what time to have it ready so it will be prepared for your return. Many many beautiful forest like scenary with tranquilizing thermal baths. Your first time here a guide will give you a thorough walk through of the place. After shes done you can start your exploration. Please please please if you see any of the water that is steaming with great hot amounts do not take it upon yourself to go in there. Please only go into the baths where the guides showed you for your safety. Beautiful scenery to the spa. Highlight of Copan Ruinas! A must go!!!!! Really nice place.. Excellent environment, relaxing pools of various temperature all natural in a natural setting. Massage was very good. A great place to spend a few hours of relaxing. This place is one hour away from the city, the road is horrible, the place is nothing like in the website only a couple of things and after PM No massage So if you want to enjoy all services you need to be there very early. Costumer service is ok not excellent. Waste of time to drive for one hour. Nice place, right in the forest, lots of pools with different temperature, its a nice place to relax and unwind. Ancient Ruins. The town features charming colonial-style streets lined with numerous restaurants that offer tasty local cuisine. Despite being a small town, it is considered safe for solo travelers at night. Mentioned on. Museo de esculturas is a must-see attraction, featuring a full-scale walk-in reconstruction of the Rosalia temple. This unique museum houses actual artifacts from the Copan site, some of which have been replicated and placed on the ruins. Visitors can marvel at the impressive skill and artistry of the ancient people from Copan through these artifacts. The museum offers an incredible opportunity to explore the history of this fascinating site, making it one of the best experiences for history enthusiasts. Is one of the best experiences of exploring the history. If you make it to these ruins, you must visit the museum. If fact, most of the artifacts in the museum are the real thing. Fabulous museum. Really great place to see the amazing and impressive skill and artistry the ancient people from Copan had. Minus 1 star because it closes at 5pm not 6pm. Please update google maps. Apart from that it was great. Wish there was more explanation. The full-scale walk-in Rosalia temple reconstruction makes this museo a must-see. You cannot see anything similar at the actual Copan site because the Mayans built a new temple over this amazing one, preserving it for future generations. We flew there in CH47's and landed in a field close to the ruins. What a beautiful place. I am not too sure the museum really add something after the visit of the actual site. Much better to spend your money a guided tour of the site, which is actually a must. Interesting museum where you can appreciate a replica of the rosalilla temple. Cost is 7 usd per person.. Mentioned on 7 lists. Archaeological site. Show 2 more. When visiting Copan Mayan Ruins in Honduras, don't miss out on the archeological complex of Las Sepulturas, located a short walk away from the main ruins. This site features three separate areas with well-preserved Mayan residential properties and various plazas showcasing upscale neighborhoods of the ancient Maya. While not as grandiose as other ruins, it offers a unique insight into Mayan life. While it is archaeologically known for the number of the graves found, it is clearly an upscale neighborhood for the Mayans. You can see the various living quarters distinctly around the various plazas. Maya ruins in Honduras. Compact than Tikal. You can walk temples one or two days enough. I wasn't too sure what to expect before I visited this place, but it was well worth seeing. With three separate sites with wealth Hayan resident properties. They are all a short walk apart, but you can walked to all three within mins. You can also use your ticket from the main Copan archeology site, which is good for 8 days. Beautiful nature and a nice walk but not much to see. Interesting archeological site but very underdeveloped. Great site for walking, it includes a long path and a short one. Ruins include around 5 living areas where Mayans from the elite class where buried. Not as spectacular as the other ruins but still a nice destination for a short hike out of town. Great little site. Has some masks and a tomb. Best Ever. Got todo he there Is awesome Breathtaking Mayan experience! Outdoor Activities. Punta de Palma is a stunning beach community located about an hour north of Puerto Barrios Izabal, Guatemala. It offers a secluded and expansive stretch of white sand, shaded by coconut trees and equipped with amenities such as garbage cans and small tables. Visitors can bring their own food or purchase it from stalls, and there are options to set up tables and chairs for a comfortable stay. The beach is free to enter and is described as clean, quiet, and family-friendly with affordable prices. Recommend to everybody! Wonderfull place. Gorgeous private beach. It is amazing beach the water is very clear but be careful because their can be jellyfish in the water and best not go during holy week. There is to much people. Nice a peaceful place Love it. Awesome place. Translated by Google Very nice place, a wonder of Guatemala. I recommend it, preferably going on a weekday to avoid crowds, white sand, shade from coconut trees, garbage cans, and little tables. You can bring food, prepare it or buy it from a stall. You can bring a table and chairs. There is a dock to walk on There is no fee to enter the beach because it is public. Although parking was always charged Q15 per motorcycle, I don't know if it is allowed. There are showers and toilets unhygienic the shower water smells strange and is strange to the touch. Use is worth Q5. Go ready. Ideal for a couple, family or friends. The road when leaving Santo Tomas is lonely and dirt and there are useless people so be careful and there are 2 bridges in very bad condition. From there everything else is beautiful. Hotel y Playa Privada Sand Bay is a fantastic destination to enjoy the day at a lovely small beach. The Tapado at this establishment is truly remarkable, offering delicious food and refreshing drinks, especially the cold beer. Additionally, guests can relax in comfortable hammocks while taking in the breathtaking Oceanview. This place provides an amazing experience with great food options and various outdoor activities for a pleasant weekend getaway with friends. Great place to spend the day at a nice little beach. The Tapado is amazing. Beer is cold and the hammocks are comfortable. We stayed there last year with my husband and 5 years old girl, it was a really bad experience, first of all people was not friendly , they take a lot of time to cook your food, the beach itself was not clean at all, water looked like brown and green, multiple insects eating us. And worst thing ever, the power went off during all night and we did not have no air conditioning and it was so hot , we could not sleep , the next day we asked them what happened to the AC and they did not bother to apologize for what happened. We travel via car all the way down to this country and I have to say it was not worth it. This place is amazing! Great food and outdoor activities and it's got a beautiful Oceanview!! Sweet spot for a chill weekend with friends. Good food but it does take a while It's a beautiful place in my opinion, it doesn't have a pool thought. Best place. Translated by Google The boat trip was clear, the dinners and breakfasts are missing. The staff was friendly but for a hotel they are lacking, instead of welcoming us with a smile the lady was all angry seeing how many were going to charge the boat. Original El viaje en lancha fue nitido, las cenas y desayunos les hace falta. The facilities are better than those in Punta de Palma, more formal. Translated by Google A few years ago we went to this place, and we really liked it. I would like to return one day. Catholic cathedral. Very nice city. Beautiful church overlooking central park. Really beautiful a place with a lot of story, and also you can find a lot of interesting shops really near. Phenomenal church, this is one the must see sights in this city. Que excelente experiencia! Grandes vistas y se conecta muy bien con la naturaleza. Translated by Google What an excellent experience! Definitely a mountain that every Honduran has to visit. Great views and connects very well with nature. If you decide to go to the summit, know that it is a very difficult extreme trail and you must be in good physical condition to climb. An amazing National Park with the highest mountain of Honduras. Not easy to reach without a car, but tuctucs go to the entrance. From there, it is a 45min walk to the visitors center. Translated by Google Beautiful national park where you can see different types of forest as you climb to the summit where you can see the sunrise from the highest place in the country above the clouds, being one of the most beautiful in Honduras, the camping areas They are somewhat neglected. Great place for watching sunsets or sunrise! Recommended if you like hiking. Desde que llegas al centro de visitantes puedes sentir el aire fresco. History museum. This site used to be free of charge but now charges 60L internat. It's a fort and you have some nice views over the city. There's a very limited fixed art exhibition. But nothing else. There's construction going on and maybe this will add value in the future. But now we just got charged for nothing much really. This is a must see, if you visit thank you, however I think the authorities should improve the amenities in the museum. Short and easy walk from the center of Gracias. You can see the scenery but it's not fabilous. Still you want to get here because there isn't much to see in Gracias. Foreigners entrance fee is Lps. The place is very small and the information is mostly in Spanish. Views from the top are nice. Great touristic experience! The fort is located at the feet of Mountain Celaque, Honduras' tallest peak. Fortaleza de San Fernando is an impressive 18th-century Spanish fortress turned history museum in Puerto Cortes, Honduras. Worth the money would do again. It was beautiful, and very well preserved. I highly reccomend you visit this site full of historical discoveries. It's an interesting experience how spanish conquerers came to Honduras and beside conquering its people, they also stole everything they could and then protected their colonies with forts. Hope they can give something back to every nation they destroyed. San Fernando's Fortress in Omoa is a captivating historical treasure, preserving a significant chapter of Honduras' colonial past. Our experience was truly exceptional thanks to an outstanding tour guide who expertly delved into the fortress's history, leaving an indelible mark on our group's memory. A well preserved part of history - worth a visit. Maybe my favorite thing I've done in Honduras. If you like history or museums, this is a must see. There was even someone on staff offering tours. It is definitely worth hiring a tour guide. There is a lot of history behind the fort that it makes you want to learn more about the history of the fort. The tour is about 1 hour long. I would say record what the guide says, if you can, so you can go back and listen to it again once he is done with the history. You can stay there as long as you want so you can then enjoy the place. Excellent place with great history. The most exciting is walking around the Fortaleza walls. For that reason the descriptions in museum are deeply colonialistic. Not a Big one.. A very Peaceful place during Weekdays.. The Museum beside it had very small details of History.. For Only one time Visit. Mentioned on 2 lists. Road cycling. Bicycle club. Indoor cycling. Visitors are pleasantly surprised by the variety of options available in the food court, which caters to different cuisines and price ranges. The mall also features popular clothing brands, perfume and accessory stores, as well as household goods and stationary shops. This place really exceeded my expectations. Firstly, the good court has an amazing variety of options: cuisine wise Mexican, Honduran, US, Chinese, European, fast food, pastries, coffee, etc. There are many known clothing brands like Zara, Bershka, Pull and Bear, perfume and accessory brands like Hush and Pandora, household goods, stationary, banking, and everything in between. Safe location, and easy to get to via bus, taxi and colectivos. It's a Mall. Nicer than some USA malls. Huge food court. Incredible place, you can find some nice stores only complain I have is that you need to pay for Parking when it used to be free a few years ago. It's a nice mall, despite it being over 30 years old. You'll find basically everything you will ever need. Very pretty mall. Products from all over central America and international. Like the stores are smaller and market certain things that they don't duplicate what others have. Found shoes quickly, not too crowded, enjoyed lunch. Lots of beautiful stores. Great place to shop, crowded but lots of offers. Mentioned on 5 lists. Mercado Guamilito is a bustling and colorful market that captures the essence of the city. It offers an array of handcrafted souvenirs, local produce, and traditional items. Visitors can find great deals on beautiful gifts and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere. The market has been recently renovated, blending modern amenities with nostalgic charm. Vendors are friendly and not pushy, creating a pleasant shopping experience. Renovations made it much more pleasant. It's a mix of modern and nostalgia whenever you walk thru to he doors. Pretty neat place for local art and craft and even local food. Many stalls have Honduras shirts, dresses, handbags, arts Some areas are open, you can find a more artesian and save a little more money. There is a great variety of souvenirs. The prices are great. The items are gorgeous. These make great gifts. My favorite place is the stand to the right when you enter through the second door of the souvenirs area. This was a great market. The vendors were not pushy, like most other countries. And the building, inside and out, was clean. A few tourist here, some stores are close. The souvenir is a little bit pricy. Free parking at the rooftop. Nice people Awesome places for artisan products. G o to 47 they have different and beautiful peoducts. The best place in town to buy souvenirs and more. Whenever you visit San Pedro Sula; don't lose the chance to stop by and take with you a little part of Honduras. Parque Central de San Pedro Sula is a vibrant and verdant public square, nestled amidst iconic architecture. The park features a network of paved walkways, ornamental trees, and a picturesque gazebo. Despite the occasional litter scattered around the area and dubious characters loitering about, the overall atmosphere remains lively yet somewhat suspect. Although police presence may provide some measure of reassurance to visitors, it is wise to exercise caution at all times in this location. Absolutely great place, very historic. I'm going to go with a four out of five just because of the amount of trash around and the amount of shady people that are around. There was a big police presence when I was there so that made me feel comfortable but at the same time there were still a lot of weird people there. It's nice to see the church and also the San Pedro sign. Money changers will always bother you and give you terrible exchange rates never go with it. It is not a bad stop but would not recommend staying there for a while. Not good for children no play areas. Mostly just a shaded area with benches near a big church. It's to dirty in there, there's always people looking suspicious in the park, don't get me wrong, park is big and it has a lot of things around it, but if they keep it clean : will be better. Very historic place, the palace, the cathedral among others. Shopping was good and so to the people. Some women even offer personal services, but I decline. San Pedro Sula's Central Park is an icon place in the hearth of industrial main city of Honduras, you may notice birds and taste some typical foods and beverages on June of each Year due to the City Anniversary, you must be very careful of not taking valuable things with you, due to high traffic of pedestrans and risk of thieve. The city grew slowly from about residents in , to almost , by the 's, but most of this population growth took place in the 19th century. The liveliest part of town. Translated by Google Nice park in the heart of the city with a view of the cathedral and town hall. Its being worked on so you can not enter Die Stadt ist ein Loch. Der Park wird den Wort nicht gerecht. Translated by Google The city is a hole. The park doesn't do the words justice. Crismass lights are better. Some good improvements made to the way it is looking with some good ramps for acces. Not much going on when I was there. Probably much cooler on holidays. Lots of street vendors nearby. Also lots of street walkers Catholic church. The cathedral, built in and recently renovated, stands as a beautiful piece of local history. It is situated near the Central Park, a charming public square surrounded by colonial-style buildings. Visitors can admire the cathedral's stunning interior and exterior, including its murals that depict significant stories. Leider wird sie im Dunkeln nicht beleuchtet. Translated by Google Beautiful cathedral in the heart of the city. Unfortunately it is not illuminated in the dark. It can be visited during the day. Beautiful inside and outside Beautiful transformation, excellent location, and safe environment! My first place for pray when come back to my favorite contry. Beautifully maintained piece of SPS history. Beautiful Cathedral. This place was a shelter for me in hard times. Ecological park. Lovely walk through the first and marshlands on the north end of Lago Yojoa. The boardwalk it's currently well maintained. There is opportunity to see many bird species known in the region. There is also an archeological site within the park. Really nice park, but overpriced at L Considering you can rent a kayak just outside for only i could not recommend that you see it unless you don't care about value. Really nice boardwall though and certainly a great walk! I love this place, great outdoors experience, best place if you want to walk and relax plus the views are amazing. The archeological 'museum' is not that worth seeing I think, there's just a few vases. A walk in nature lakeside and seeing archeological sites. It's an easy walk, but quite long. Some hours long. Bring confortable shoes and plenty of water. Definitely worth a visit. Well constructed walking trails nice trail bridges although be careful, parts of it need repairs. Beautiful vegetation and possibility for birdwatching not much to see for us.. The park hosts the second largest archeological site in Honduras after Copan unfortunately it's completely covered, so barely visible. There's a museum but we skipped it. Really nice trial I would recommend to visit this place only if you haven't experienced walking in rainforest. There is nothing you are going see expect walking in the jungle with mosquito bites. Beautiful, well maintained park with scenic vistas of Lake Yojua and the mountains along the boardwalk. Lots of bird watching opportunities for the nature lover. Thoroughly enjoyed it while visiting the lake,. Nice place to walk and get connected with nature. Walk over a long wooden like bridge path near Lake Yojoa, between trees and then a suspended bridge over a channel. Much fun for several hours. Un bonito lugar para pasear cerca del Lago de Yojoa y disfrutar de la naturaleza. I have been to this place twice. My first visit was in while on a mission trip to Honduras. My second visit was in while in Honduras again visiting my friends that I met while on mission. Both trips were very fun, and it was nice weather on both of my visits to the waterfall. There is a bit of a steep hike down to the base of the waterfall if you wish to get a view like in the picture, but I believe it is very much worth the effort. I hope I get to visit this place again someday, and I would highly recommend you visit this place if you get the chance. Waterfall was beautiful. The zip line provided some amazing views of the falls. The hike under the waterfall was an absolute adrenaline rush. Nice place nature-wise. Usually overly crowded. Not much to do around. And both roads to get there are truly hell. Prepare to get your car wrecked, or use a somewhat tall car pickup, van, etc. It's a great place to make zip line and it's recommended to go behind the waterfall. If you want some more, jump into the pool before leaving the waterfall, but ask a guide before doing it. You can access by yourself, even with a small car. The entrance is limperas. You have nice view on the cascade and you can swim above it. If you want to swim at the bottom of the cascade, you need a special access group? You can choose on site. You can also zip line. Restaurant on site and a playground. Pleasant place. Despite the long for me - 70 minutes and curvy drive; this visit was well worth the time and money spent. We only stayed 3 hours, and it was time that flew by. My family rode the zip line and did the waterfall hike. Unfortunately, we failed to plan for more time, not knowing how much fun we would have. Stunning place and must see! You can spend the day there. And there are some activities that you can do. Adult entrance fee is L 4USD , but it's really worthy! The most outstanding adventure I've done You go behind and under the falls. Absolutely stunning! One of the if not the most beautiful waterfalls I have seen. We did the behind the falls tour, not for the faint of heart. You actually walk through the falls. Very cool. Nice place beautiful waterfall. Not too crowded. Good place for your Nina's and Ninos to swim. And have a family picnic. The behind the waterfall 'tour' was an absolutely amazing once in a lifetime trip. It was worth the trip. I will remember this forever. It was fun and exhilarating. Not for the faint of heart! Went there on a vacation and had the BEST time. Highly recommend the experience. Awesome and beautiful. I wish I had my kids with me. There was a nice shallow area where kids could splash and chill and have fun. Going behind the waterfall was a little anticlimactic, but we got to jump off some of the smaller falls after, so that was fun. Good food at the food trucks. Pulhapanzak is an absolute must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and hiking aficionados. The panoramic vistas are nothing short of breathtaking, and Mita's cabins elevate the experience to exceptional heights. Nestled strategically atop the mountain, where the river embarks on its journey towards the falls, these cabins offer unparalleled views and idyllic spots for swimming or lounging in a hammock while sipping drinks with friends. The cabins themselves are impeccably maintained, boasting modern amenities like air conditioning and hot water. Their cozy furnishings provide comfort and relaxation. A central highlight is the expansive fire pit situated in the heart of the campground, a gathering place where you can engage in delightful conversations with fellow guests, savor drinks, or simply soak in the melodious symphony of the nearby river. Pulhapanzak feels like a genuine paradise, providing the perfect escape to rejuvenate your mind and spirit, leaving behind the cares of the world. During our visit, my husband and I had the privilege of meeting the owner, Mity, who radiates warmth, personality, and hospitality. She shared the remarkable history of the land, a cherished legacy from her great-grandfather, which she and her son have transformed into the haven it is today. Mity's dedication and passion for the family business shine through in the exceptional treatment of her guests and the tireless efforts of her staff to create unforgettable experiences. We're already planning our return trip for next year and intend to make it a recurring retreat whenever our busy schedules permit. Pulhapanzak has left an indelible mark on our hearts. Beautiful place and waterfalls despite the roads need some repairs. Cool place to spend the afternoon. Bring a picnic lunch, relax, and have a swim. Gorgeous falls. Worth a stop. Going under the waterfall is a must do experience but do know that you do go directly under a powerful stream of water and it can be very scary and hard to breathe and see. Nice clean room. Accommodate four people without any issue, food selection not to good only few options to choose from. I had a little bit of an issue with the air-conditioning. Bodies of Water. Beautiful lake in the center of Honduras, Lots of stuff to do, beautiful scenery, fishing. Great places to eat, stay and relax! I am not going to lie, at first I was not excited about coming to 'some lake' when the Roatan beaches are about 4 hours away. BUT- I have to admit this is a hidden gem. The boat tour in Lake Yojoa was refreshing. I went in through Finca de Glorias side, there is a restaurant onsite. The water looks dirty nearby but as you get further in on the boat, the water looks really nice. It's a definite must visit. This place will grab your heart and attached itself. The people are so kind and understanding. Google translate helped me and knowing a few words. I highly recommend going. The most Beautiful lake I've ever seen! Surrounded by mountains and green vegetation they give you free rides on Sundays and play the marimba live that makes this place very special and unforgettable. Spectacular view and great place to visit with family. One of my favorite lakes of all time! Must visit place near the Capital city. Brewery, restaurants, waterfalls Quite a few things to do around here. Great place to relax and enjoy nature! Beautiful place to cool off. A very nice place to take your children to see the animals. The best part of the zoo is when they feed the lions. Which is later in the afternoon. Majority of the animals are very malnourished. During one visit, I saw two animals that had nets tied around their feet and neck. One of the white lions had a disability and was kept in a separate enclosure with very little shade and very little water. The lions and tigers were all pacing, panting, and very very skinny. I hope this place gets shut down and the animals are given to an animal facility that can actually care for them. Very beautiful place. This is a really awesome zoo. Right up close and personal with the animals. A little far off the beaten path. BTW according to Google maps it's located in Santa Cruz de Yojoa but it's really about 20 minutes further in a dirt road. It was something wonderful to get to see this majestic animals, but it a sad things as the guardians said that they are dying without care; Moving on, the food is terrible. This place is a real gem! The amount of animals was astounding! They have pools and restaurants inside the zoo. It's an amazing beautiful place! Relatively few animals but a lot of tigers born many of them in the zoo specially the white tigers, precious animals. And after you finish watching the animals, go to the pool, refreshing!!! The access to the zoo is quite complicated and tiring, since you have to drive between 40 to 60 min in a narrow dirt road in bad condition. The best rout to get to the zoo is by Santa Cruz the Yojoa Town, and not by the recommendation of Google Maps since that route, although is the shortest, it lacks of informative signs and the road is accesible only for 4x4 vehicles with 4WD. And yes, you can pay with Creditcards. There are many types of animals to see: ostrich, hippopotamus, tigers, lions, camels, birds, reptiles, etc. The zoo is no longer supported by the Honduras goverment. So the visitors entrance payment is the only support the zoo has for the maintenance and care of the animals. The Zoo Joya Grande deserves a 5 stars rating, but the conditions of access, make it get a 4 stars rating. This place is extremely awesome!! U get to see the animals!! Face to face. I was really impressed with this zoo! I did not expect to see something this nice in Honduras, especially with as far as you have to go out of town to get to it. But it's well worth the drive! NOTE: the location shown on Google is wrong!! Very nice day trip walking through the national park. Nice waterfalls and views across the lake. Was super quiet when we were there as it was a weekday with entry fee reasonable. Public transport easy to get here if staying around he Lake and then a cheap Tuk Tuk to the top. Nice park, as well-maintained as everyone has said. The loop trail plus cascada off-shoot took us 4. Spotted a jaguarundi from the tuk-tuk up, but somehow was the only one to see it cross the street as we were turning around a curve. It was just sitting on the tree across from me when I sat down on one of the benches to catch my breath. One perk of having difficulty uphill is stopping for breath more often and having these surprises! The water in the cascada where swimming was allowed is cold! The cascada at the off-shoot trail had a sign saying no contaminating and another saying 5 people can swim for 10 minutes there - not sure which sign was true. Beautiful rain forest with three different hiking tracks and good spots to view wildlife or have a bath in fresh natural water basins. Especially birds are often to be seen. The street to the Panacam Lodge is alright even with a normal car. The best hike ever. Nice view it takes four hour but it worth it. Nice place to have a splendid stay. Has accomodation with swimming pool, slides for kids, horse riding,go karting. Excellent hike, camping, and experience with nature. However, be ready for a long 4-hour hike to do the longest trail. Awesome views! Beautiful mountain-scape, healthy cloud forest with a semi-technical walk and plenty of gorgeous sights! Safety is great and prices are great, you can spot park rangers in most places. The hotel is nice and clean, price is great! Landscaping is very nice. Careful with spiders and scorpions in rooms, they are abundant as this is an ecologically healthy environment. Really liked this park, 60L entrance fee and the large trail is a really fun walk with beautiful views. We saw a snake, a woodpecker, butterflies, a hummingbird and some other birds. The lodge from where the trail starts has a veranda with hummingbird feeders. You cannot see this from the entrance and there is no sign saying the but you have to have a drink there. There are so many hummingbirds, it is beautiful! Translated by Google I like the coffee, I like the attention and speed of the service. It is a small but comfortable place. The prices are affordable but at this location they do not accept electronic payments. The baking options are good and the hours are long. I like the location since they are in a central location in front of the Central Park. Translated by Google Excellent location in the center of Marcala, a quiet place to enjoy a coffee. Translated by Google An excellent place, they give you quality and service and they do accept electronic payments. Place of worship. An smallest but with great legacy church, it has a great history because when the spanish coquerors had their spanish colony there, they built 4 churches for each for each slave of a different race, you know, mestizos, blacks, Indians, Creoles and the fifth church was for whites, Spaniards born in Europe. It church has a great story, and once in a while you can visit it. Beatiful place. Translated by Google Very pleasant space with a bench area, I think it is lonely at night due to the few activities, inadequate lighting and benches in poor condition. Translated by Google A very beautiful church and its very cozy park Original Una iglesia muy bonita y su parque muy acogedor. Translated by Google Very nice and good to relax Original Muy bonito y bueno para relajarse. Translated by Google It is a small church but with great history, it is a church created for Afro-descendants and Indians. Translated by Google The church is very beautiful Original Muy hermosa la iglesia. Translated by Google The park is in excellent maintenance, very clean and a nice place to spend the afternoon. There are children on bicycles, people walking dogs, in short it is nice, one can bring food and enjoy since there is no place very close. Archaeological museum. History Museums. Definitely deterred me and I'm a traveler that likes to go to museums. It is nicest museum to visit, there you can find a plenty of history about Lencas ethnician and you can lear a little bit more bout Honduras' History. This is a great place I warranty you dont go to hesitate, so please dont miss the oportunity to visit. I went once and it was an unbeatable experience. You can go with family, and pals. Great for culture. Nice Lenca museum. The guide is very knowledgeable. The people are very kind, the pieces are of the prehistoric era. Wonderful place to visit. A good collection of lenca pottery. Cultural center. Art Galleries. Translated by Google Central and historic. Events can also be held here, with the authorization of the municipal mayor's office.
