After a few days in Skiathos you can become a bit travel-weary with the standard Greek fare available almost everywhere. At that point you really need to look this place up. The food, from starters to dessert, was all excellent, to the point where we actually went back there on a second night virtually unheard of when there is so much choice. The first time we all had the meat and cheese selection as a starter, plus the garlic bread beautifully presented, almost like a cornish pasty - then we were all stuffed before we even had a chance to start on the pizzas that we had ordered. The pizzas were fantastic, top quality ingredients on a base that had just the right amount of chewiness and crispiness. This was REAL pizza, not the pre-manufactured stuff you get elsewhere, you could tell everything is freshly made. The second time we skipped the starter so that we could try the desserts instead. For mains we mixed it up a bit and had pasta dishes as well as a pizza because it was so good. Again, everything was excellent, the traditional carbonara is to be recommended. Dessert was the torte caprese and tiramisu, both great. Both meals were finished off with a complimentary shot of kahlua topped with milk foam - delicious. For us, this was the best place to eat in Skiathos, even though it wasn't Greek food. Visited restaurant in June after passing each night on our way along the waterfront and talking to the lady outside Lovely meal with excellent service. Had delicious salads, pastas and tasty treats with drinks. Would recommend. The staff and owner were pleasant and friendly. The restaurant was presented very well and crockery and cutlery very clean and shiny. We were with friends a few days ago and the place was very friendly. The waiters was very kind and attentive. We ate balsamic lamb and pork ribs. The food was delicious. The house wine was perfect and with the view it was a memory that we won't forget. I want to say thanks the staff for the amazing service and the for the spectacular food!!! Delightfully situated in the back streets of the old town. We sat outside although there is an inside area presumably for when the weather is less pleasant. I would recommend booking and arriving early. We dined at which was perfect. A few walkers come past but do not affect your enjoyment. In fact on the contrary my daughter identified 3 celebs who walked past! Clean and inviting, the service was good. We didn't experiment too much as we all opted for the large pizzas with a side salad between us. We eat here every year and have never been disappointed. Caprese salad followed by vegetable pasta was superb and a nice change from usual fayre on the island. My only moan is that it's true what they say in Skiathos - the restaurant owners love you when you arrive but it fades as you get a tan and they know you're going home so they move on to new customers. We have found this a couple of times here with dodgy tables but we will return. Running through our 2nd successful year of establishment the menu of Giardino Segreto will be under the direction of the known Executive Chef Anastasios Vasiliadis. We kept the freshness of the ingredients, the successful recipes, the favorite tastes and. It started badly when we walked into an empty restaurant, a surprise as the reviews all said it was busy. Obviously this meant there was no atmosphere. For the prices charged we would expect better ingredients, not the cheapest available. Well worth a visit, tricky to find at first, but once you have it's very easy to get to from the main street. Lots of pizza choices, delicious pasta dishes and salads, don't be afraid to ask the staff for recommendations, they'll give solid advice. Reasonable prices for food and drinks. Staff very friendly. Highly recommended. Last visited this restaurant seven years ago when we ate there eight times during during a two week stay on the island. The food and everything about the eating experience was outstanding. I gave them a five star review on Tripadvisor. On our recent return to Skiathos we could hardly wait to have a meal there on our first night. Overlooking the Old Port it is in a prime position to enjoy a pleasant evening meal. We have never been so disappointed with the Lasagna ordered. This was on a special board and the owner told us that she got someone else to make it as it was superior to her own. It was a poorly presented tasteless meal. We thought this might just be unfortunate and would return on a future evening as previously the meals had been so good. In the end we did not go back due to the strong smell of cats urine in the restaurant. Even if the food had been good there was no getting away from the urine smell. What a disappointment. I'm very sorry you didn't like our lasagna. Italian customers who tried them were very satisfied. Surely it's a matter of taste. As for the smell of urine, it is the cause of stupid behaviors of many customers who attract cats with morsels. The Island unfortunately, is full of cats and idiots who cuddle them, and when I try to chase them away, they consider me a monster. I believe however that the review is extremely severe especially for a problem that unfortunately we cannot solve. I hope you look back your review and hope to see you again soon. Booking essential,This relatively new restaurant is in the town of Skiathos, decor is gorgeous and refreshing. We found a great menu, and the quality of food quite honestly the best in Skiathos! Beaches are fabulous, water sports reasonably priced at Koukounaries beach as are the beach bars, take note that there are no toilet facilities at Maratha beach. Views from this hotel are something special. This is probably the worst quality we have ever had for a 4 star establishment. This definitely needs improvement. We considered having dinner at the hotel but because of the breakfast and the limited choice for evening meal we took our custom elsewhere. Also, the catering and bar staff were not as welcoming as other places we have stayed in Greece during the past 5 years and I would suggest training needs to be improved in this area to make guests feel more welcome. In contrast the reception staff were first class in all respects. Excellent reception staff particularly Irini who was so helpful from our arrival until departure. Room are really inadequate given the cost. Lovely pool area. Breakfast appalling unless you like powdered scrambled egg, synthetic concentrate juices, unripe fruit, terrible coffee or weak tea, low quality bread and pastries. All done on the cheap. The hotel has potential but you feel that they are trying to squeeze every last cent out of it by providing the cheapest and poorest quality product. Given they can do little about the rooms but at least provide a decent breakfast! Loved the location, just so perfect. The staff were very attentive, always at hand to help with anything that we needed. Everything functioned so smoothly. Just an amazing stay. Staff, very rude, unpolite and not professional! When we arrived the whirlpool was empty and dirty, not useable! When we asked the next dat to clean and fill it up with water they filled it up alright but not clean it, so we could still not use it! The next day they cleaned it up and filled it with water, ready to be used! Same with the softer pillows and matrassses! Maintenance men came to fix some curtain rings without using the door bell, came in! No room service menu available in the information folder! No prices available for the mini bar! No copy of the charge when the mini bar was re filled again. Staff was very rude. From the reception, poolbar, room service you name it! Except for the guy who filled the mini bar daily and the mades that made our room! Even talked to the general manager only thing he could offer was a night at the restaurant, charged for free! Location and room. Very beautiful gorgeous resort with a stunning view! No coffee machine or tea or kettle in the room. The breakfast Resturant staff were very rude the whole time we were there. They were slamming the utensils and cups on the table. If you ask them for tea or anything they mumble. The size of the suite was good and the view was amazing.
