The outside area around the pool was pretty. The breakfast was very good. The room lacked comfort. The bed was hard as a rock. The T. No water is provided to even brush your teeth. The blinds for the shower window were gone. I can only compare this room to my college dorm, just more run down. The staff seemed nice at first, but they did not go out of their way to be helpful. Example: Wanted to buy a Coke at the restaurant but was told it was to early and i had to wait til lunch! I was impressed by the softness of the sheets and inquired about them. You would of thought I was asking for State Secrets. The girl at the desk would not give up any information. She came off very rude! My spanish is defiantly sub-par but I was trying. She quickly corrected me and made me feel stupid! Then to make worse, told me she spoke english, but it was in such a demeaning way! When we checked out, we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay. The only statement was, need your remote controls from the room! The Maya Bric is situated in the centre of Playa del Carmen and close to shops, restaurants and the nightlife.
