When you get off the ship, walk out of the terminal, crosss over the street that runs in front of it use the traffic lights - and don't forget they drive on the opposite side of the road , and walk away from the ship down the street where you cross at the lights and you'll find Coconut Square. You'll come to the bottom right hand corner of the square. If you cross to the left hand side of the square, walk up the street on that side of the Square, Rue du General Mangin is the 3rd street. The shop is on the far side of the road, either in the first or second block walking away from Coconut Square. Once again you've got all the answers - cheers! Thought I'd let you know re our 'T' Grade cabin offer - we turned it down as they could only offer us Riveria deck and these were definately on the small side. Crazy thing was, a couple of days ago we got offered for 2 couples from our group to share a suite - now that's a sure sign they're pushed for space! FYI no-one accepted - changes a couples holiday considerably and only 1 bathroom for 4 people - 2 of which are men who spend a lot of time 'contemplating' in this area. The drinks are expensive in Noumea. My daughter bought some chocolates there - they are ok but definitely not worth the money.!!! The truffles and the fancy stuff might be better but the prices were way out of our range. You can buy New Caledonian made chocolates in the supermarket which we did and they were very tasty. Here's a tip.. I am loopy So I missed out on a French feast at home, dining on garlic snails, and the cats missed out on French rabbit in succulent juices.. We brought biscuits we had bought in the supermarket back in - the Quarantine lady had a look through the ingredients, but was happy with what she saw I think snails are on the 'dodgy' list We found the Chocolate Shop - one of the ladies in there could speak beautiful English the others probably could too - but couldn't be bothered! Now I'm not normally a fan of this type of confectionary tend to find the crunchiness of the coffee beans a bit off putting but these were DIVINE!!! Maybe the problem with both the snails and the cat food was that they were 'meat' or meat products. These are an absolute 'no no'. I have brought in biscuits I was given in Germany and other food items also with foreign labels. I declared all of them and showed the quarantine officer a list with details of the country of origin. They didn't even inspect the items, but there was no meat or meat products. She called her supervisor over, who looked at the tin too with a puzzled expression then he said 'sorry, the ingredients aren't in English, so you can't have it'. I wonder if someone dined on snails and someone's cat enjoyed bunny for dinner? Oh Eve you have me in stitches!!! That is SO something i'd do!! A tin of French bunny for the puss-cat :D:D I love it!!! I brought back a tin of snails after my last trip and got them thru with no problems that was into sydney though I had brought a couple of things in french for My daughter to take to her french class I had all of my things to declare in the one bag.. And it was a large tin of snails I have the empty snail shells sitting in a bottle you used to be able to buy tinned snails in DJs but nothing to fill them with, now. I could farm my own snails, I have enough of the damn things, but that is a bit yukky! I had a cat returned to me in Feb this year after being stolen from me 7 years ago!
