Us locals call that area 'Valdibora'. It's really straight forward to find once you are in Rovinj. Hopefully my passion for culture, history and food will bring Rovinj closer to your heart. I love traveling, languages, gardening and nature. Goran is extremely friendly and gives an amazing tour of Rovinj. I'd highly recommend this tour to everyone as a good introduction to the area. He's also very knowledgeable on the rest of Croatia and the Istria peninsula. He will cater the tour based on the group he's with from what I've noticed, which made it a nice personalization. Our tour started out on a misty Tuesday morning and when the rain came heavier, Goran helped me buy an umbrella to continue the tour. It was very interesting and he was able to connect a lot of dots as well as giving me a lot of good stories and facts. What happened next, I owe it all to Goran and the bystanders. When the rain started to dry off, I was trying to put away my cheap umbrella and when trying to push the handle in, one of the metal bars poked my index finger took a chunk of skin off and it started bleeding. I washed it a few times and blood kept coming out. Goran gave me a tissue to dry it out and put some pressure on it. The sight of my own blood made me feel light headed and having not eaten yet, I was probably also low on sugar and next thing I knew I had flashbacks and woke up half leaning on the ground. I blacked out, leaned over the wall ft drop and Goran pulled me in and sat me on the ground. I came to and saw some people standing around me asking if I was okay. I grabbed some jelly beans from my bag to eat and said I need some sugar. Goran went and grabbed me a coke and skittles. Some ladies from Austria who witnessed it, saw me sitting there in a mist came over to keep me company and put an umbrella over me. Everyone was so friendly and caring. Goran helped me inside the church to sit for a bit and then drove me back to my airbnb nearby. I am very thankful to Goran for the tour and for helping me with everything. Who knows, without him there I might have fallen over the ledge. While I gave him a nice tip as a small token my gratitude, words cannot describe how indebted I feel to Goran and the people around and helped out. Thank you very much! Great experience!
