We were given one complimentary bottle of water between two of us and one extra pillow between of us for a two night stay. None of the bathroom lotions were replenished after the first night. A little bit from the train station, but the professional and warm service, beautiful, spacious and comfortable room is enough to make up for this small shortcoming. I've traveled all over the world, and stayed in many beautiful places. This is one of the prettiest and just peaceful and charming. The suite was gorgeous, huge, and quiet. The bed was so good that I found out the name of the mattress and bought it when I got home. The staff at the Palace are wonderful. Kind, helpful, and accommodating. They also speak English in case your Italian is rough. The location could not be better. There are great restaurants all around, a cafe right outside the door -- we got to know the owner. There's a gorgeous and relaxing garden that is all yours. We loved the Hercules statue in the courtyard too. You can walk to anywhere from here and the price is excellent. Hotel Garibaldi. This is our second stay at the Garibaldi Hotel, and we definitely plan on going back to it if and when we might travel to the area. The staff is very accommodating, breakfast is wonderful, and it's also conveniently close to the train stop about a 10 minute walk , which makes trips to any destination Verona, Milan, Venice, Trieste, etc.. Hotel Europa. The Hotel Europa is only a ten or twelve minute walk from the Padova railway station and is easy to find. The hotel is also only about a ten minute walk to the centre of the old town, with historical sites and shopping, restaurants and bars all being fairly close. Check-in was easy and despite being early by about twenty minutes, the receptionist gave me a room. A double room, it had an independent air-conditioning unit, a safe which was unfortunately locked when I arrived , plenty plug points, a fridge with two bottles of water and a bathroom with very basic toiletries. The internet wifi worked alright. The room was clean and although not luxurious was comfortable enough. Breakfast was of the usual continental style but with the addition of bacon and scrambled or boiled eggs. A few rolls, breads, croissants, pastries, tarts as well as cold meat, cheese, yoghurt, choice of cereals, fruit juice and some fresh fruit. Sounds like a lot, but compared with other hotel breakfast buffets, it was actually quite meagre. No self-service coffee machine probably a good thing! I did ask the receptionist if the safe in my room could be opened so as I could use it and was promised that somebody would come later to fix it but they never did. However having lost my phone charger, I also asked if I could borrow one and the receptionist went into a drawer and gave me one to use. Check-out was quick with another cheery guy at reception. The structure is located in a very good location, close to the city centre and also close to the main road arteries. The Best Western Plus location was very close to all of the activities we had planned for our quick visit to Padova. The hotel Donatello is well located across from the city's Basilica di San Antonio, and about 5 minutes from the famous Prato della Valle and from the city centre and old city university, ghetto, daily markets, pedestrian street, etc. From the outside, the hotel looks quite elegant and I suspect that front facing rooms have a nice view. To be honest, however, everything else about the hotel was rather disappointing. Rooms are actually tired and pretty gloomy. The single rooms are extremely small, the doubles are of decent size but tend to overlook blind narrow courtyards and feel rather dark and a bit depressing with a decor that seems stuck in the s. Cleanliness is variable, lighting unpleasant, and whilst beds are decent, the pillows are hard and quite uncomfortable. Breakfast is quite poor. Juice is a strange watery thing from a machine. The best part are the nice homemade cornetti croissants filled with jam, cream or chocolate but apart from them, fruit, salad, bread, etc are all of poor quality and the scrambled eggs and meat are stone cold. There is a toaster which doesn't seem to work well and mediocre bread. Service in the hotel is not very friendly - reception staff ranged from reasonably cordial to barely polite and in one case, outright unpleasant. We spent all the time in the gym and later in the pool, where we met two great tip-tap-toe dancers from Frosinone. The only problem was that the neighbouring room complained for the banging at 3 am. Padova Padua is an amazing city, full of things, but a bit over the place. Also we suggest a day to Legnaro, the only thing is to beware incoming thunderstorms. The best thing about Padua though is the bus system, which is free and always on time. Best Western Hotel Biri. Before our trip I read a lot of comments that hotel is pretty old and tired. But when we arrived we realized that hotel has been renovated. All the rooms are modern, fresh and cozy. Hotel has good parking, tasty breakfast on the last floor with the nice view. Rooms have comfy beds and balkonies with the good view. Location is not far from the city center and train station. From the last one you can easily reach to Venice. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I can defintelly recomend this hotel for couples and families with kids and grand parents. Hotel Igea. While traveling through northern Italy we stayed one night in this property. It is in easy walking distance to the Basilica of St. Anthony and short walk to the piazzas in the center of Padova or close stroll to a tram stop. Parking can be a bit of a challenge - the public parking in front of the hotel can be a bit expensive, but the hotel also has parking nearby for a lower price - see the clerk at check in. The rooms are not large, but they are clean and comfortable with no frills. The shower has good pressure, but the temperature tended to vary. The breakfast is not fancy, but a typical Italian breakfast. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. Tulip Inn Padova. We were only there for a night. We have a quadruple room which is separated through a sliding door. At check in time the room were ready, it was clean and okay. The kettle was there with instant coffee, tea, sugar and 2 paper cups. More you could ask at the reception. At night the room with the twin bed were suddenly smell like cigarette. As a non smoking family, with a child which has asthma, not a good sign. The smell was so intensive, that it was impossible to sleep. I would say the window has bad isolation. They were fully booked, but at least after begging hard i could get an extra room for my asthmatic child at midnight. Try to get the room with odd number, they are definitely quieter. Hotel Giovanni. Hotel in the average, no fame and no praise. To be a 4 stars and for the price paid I expected more, the room is essential. Please note that exceptional breakfast varies and with sweet and salty products of excellent quality. The receptionist's courtesy was also very appreciated: the location if you walk is not the best, the road from the station is not beautiful and the buses are not right in front. Hotel Al Cason. Location was initially hard to find, but I saw a sign on the street pointing the right way to go. My directions gave two ways to go. The first involved going uphill and there were bikes whizzing by, so it wasn't very good if you have luggage. The other was flat and went by a bunch of people hanging out in the street. I didn't feel threatened but it isn't the best area in this lovely city. I don't know what it's like after dark. Basically, you take a right at the McDonalds, walk down the street past the Ethnic Market a larger convenience store where I bought Coke Zeros several times and follow the street around to the roundabout, take a right and go about blocks. Staff was pleasant, helped with a safe issue a prior occupant had left it locked and kept their cool when I spilled some Coke Zero on the floor when retrieving my luggage that I had left after checking out. Internet was good, safe was a good size, and breakfast was good in terms of quality and quantity. There is a restaurant in the hotel that was closed Sunday night. We were very tired one night and ate there and we were glad that it was available. There isn't a lot around the hotel but it was a short walk to a nice area that had a lot of restaurants. We also were able to walk to a laundromat in the area as well as all of the tourist attractions. The services are a little more spartany and sacrificed: TV is small and is close to 45 degrees from the bed, the air conditioner works very slowly and the refrigerator is absent. It was also not possible to delay the exit of the room by a few hours on the last day, but the luggage deposit is offered in a dedicated room.
