We were honoured to host you and deliver the open training session for over 15, fans. Thank you for inspiring a nation through rugby. You will always be welcome here. The hosts made a lasting impression when around 15, fans showed up to watch an open training session by the Wales squad at their host city's ground. A video of the Japanese fans singing Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau went viral shortly afterwards, as Welsh rugby fans back home were left enamoured by their support. The players reciprocated this welcome during the tournament as they visited schools and regularly mixed with the community to show their appreciation, ensuring that they also left a lasting impression. After the tournament, the WRU took out an advert thanking their hosts which read: 'To all Kitakyushu citizens. Over the two years of exchange it has become a very special place for us. See you soon.
