This is one of those places I almost hesitate to write a positive review because I don't want it to be 'discovered. I woke up one morning unable to walk, falling in pain, and the hostel manager drove me to the ER, where I needed immediate emergency surgery. If it weren't for her kindness I literally might have died. It's a great hostel. Essential English communication is available. The place is literally beach-side -- a one-minute walk to the ocean. There is a lot of construction going on as of early May, but never during sleeping hours. There is a bus-stop into Jincheng a 5-minute walk away. There is a close grocery store min walk. Jincheng is about a minute walk. There is not a convenient bus TO the hostel though. Also, should be noted, the place is both a hostel and a hotel, in two separate buildings. The hotel part has a restaurant downstairs that is some of the best western-style but Chinese-owned food I've had in China. Overall really great, and like I said, I don't want to blow it up One of the best minsu I've stayed in. This house is totally beautiful and much thought given to the design of every details. The owners are great, friendly and welcoming. I noted a special diet request vegetarian through agoda and they took note of that. They prepared a very nice vegetarian breakfast for us in the morning, that's very kind of them. The place is located out of the busy city area, but we had a car, so it wasn't much of a problem. The only downside would be the lack of TV in the room, everything else was perfect. A traditional architecture yet clean and modern design. Big and clean rooms. Good air-conditioner and TV with many channels. About minutes walking to Kinmen University, a great choice for those who would join Kinmen Marathon. It would be perfect if they serve breakfast. Great home stay I ever have, high quality facility, clean environment, good service, provide free beverage and snacks, I would highly recommend to anyone would like to go to kinmen. He told me he has very few Western guests then again, very few westerners know to visit Kinmen and even fewer stay for a few days to see everything there ; but he did everything possible to be helpful — even driving me and other guests into town and helping me to book some tours. The only drawback is location as there would be nothing to eat in Beishan — at least at night. So you would need to eat elsewhere or have a scooter to go several KMs into town the public buses stop after 7pm. Internet in the main lounge area was usually fast and worked most of the time, but the walls are thick - meaning there is not good reception in the bunk rooms. The owner also said his grandmother was from Beishan. I stayed at this guesthouse for 2 nights. The place is also around minutes on foot going to the town center. The location is very quiet, clean and very comfortable. What makes this special is Eva. She is a very hardworking staff and companion. She offered going back and forth to the city and kind enough to explain the best places to visit in Kinmen. She can also converse in English which I think is very important in Kinmen since some guesthouses uses google translate. I never had a problem during my stay and I would definitely recommend this place. I really had a great time at this place. Immaculate hostel. Friendly owner who speaks good English. Easy enough to get to by bus minutes out of Jincheng by bus. Visitors center at Jincheng bus station lends out bicycles for free they just hold your passport for multiple days, and hostel can be reached within 15 minutes or so by bike over nearly flat roads. No restaurants near hostel only a 7 Eleven about 1 km away toward Jincheng, but it has prepared meals they will microwave for you to go. If arriving by ferry from Xiamen, take bus 7 to terminus at Jincheng bus center and then ask for the correct transfer bus. Very friendly owner, picked us up at the jetty and even sent us to the town area right after. Excellent breakfast and great hospitality. Room is clean and environment is nice! Beean is located in a village just north of Jincheng, the main town on the island. While there are more picturesque villages to stay in, this village still had a few traditional homes, a couple small temples, a big banyan tree, and an old military bunker. Although not far from the main road, it was quite peaceful in the guesthouse. The owner sent me a text message on the day of arrival. Although his English is extremely limited, he's very friendly. He picked us up from the Shuitou ferry terminal and drove us to the guesthouse at no extra charge. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, so he allowed us to drop off our bags and drove us to Jincheng. We stayed in the family room which was a loft with a queen sized bed on the first floor, and a double bed on the second. Unfortunately, there was no heating in the room, so in the winter it's a bit chilly. Restored century old mansion; modern amenities; superb home cooked breakfast and enthusiastic and friendly hosts who takes care of your every need. I was staying on Kinmen with my wife for just two days He offered to drive us around Kinmen anytime and anywhere we wanted to go: he took us to the Visitor Center to rent bicycles, to a local laundromat to wash clothes, and to local restaurants for dinner. Every morning he would come to our room at 8am with breakfast that he himself drove out into the village to order for us The Guesthouse recently underwent renovations, and two of the rooms are part of the refurbished traditional-style homes that you'll see around Kinmen. Though the rooms may be small by Western standards, they are fully equipped with AC, Western-style toilets, and comfortable beds and pillows. We would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Kinmen. For the money, you won't find a better or friendlier place. What's the average price of a hotel in Jinning?
