The leader of the United Reformed Church in Wales, the Rev Peter Noble, has written to all congregations to ask that on Sunday, September 14, they sing hymns written by minister Reverend David Fox, who has been missing for five weeks. The churches are also being asked to use prayers and worship material which will have been specially prepared for the occasion. Rather it will be an opportunity to celebrate the very real contribution David has made. Mr Fox, 52, a minister with the United Reformed Church in Penarth, was reported missing from his hotel in Slovenia on June 23 after going for a walk alone. Police and mountain rescue teams, with the help of a helicopter, have carried out extensive searches in the Bohinj region since Mr Fox, 52, went missing, but the search has since been called off. However, we live with the promise that wherever he is, he is held in the love of God. Mr Fox has been minister of Elfed Avenue United Church, Penarth, for seven years, and a surprise party to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his ordination had been due to take place in the first week of July.
