A Mirror investigation today reveals how Tusi, also known as pink cocaine, is rife in bars and clubs. We joined some of the , UK holidaymakers who hit the Balearic Island each year and saw a shocking open trade in the new substance. It is being brazenly offered alongside regular coke, ecstasy and laughing gas. Experts are particularly concerned about Tusi, which has claimed the life of a year-old on the Spanish mainland. It is a combination of a form of ecstasy called MDMA, tranquilliser ketamine, occasionally cocaine — but usually caffeine — and bright pink dye. Authorities in Ibiza have successfully raided gangs selling drugs such as cocaine and Tusi. But it seems this is little deterrent. Strolling towards the venue, which regularly plays host to big-name DJs like Calvin Harris, David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia, it was not long before our reporter was approached by a dealer. These men also had Tusi, which originates in Colombia and is seen as a high-class party drug similar to cocaine. Users have no idea of the ratios within the drug — and mixing it with alcohol can be highly dangerous. For example, if it has a high ketamine content, this can raise the risk of blackouts and cause a lack of co-ordination when mixed with alcohol. If it contains more MDMA, when combined with booze, this can lead to dehydration, increasing the risk of heatstroke. DRUGS might be harder to come by in Ibiza for a while after a police swooped on nearly two tonnes of cocaine with the now-notorious swastika branding. The two busts mark the largest hauls of MDMA and cocaine respectively and the dismantling of the biggest criminal organisation smuggling cocaine in the Balearic Islands to date.
