Nina Holmes, 33, died after taking the brown powder at a bar in the Bulgarian ski resort of Borovets. She was carried outside and put on a table and she was unconscious all the time. But Mr Herbert said he noticed that she was unsteady on her feet and tried to take her outside the bar but she had already fallen unconscious. The emergency services were called but despite efforts to resuscitate her she could not be saved. Pathologist Dr Maurizio Brotto said Ms Holmes died of a heart attack brought on by poisoning caused by toxicity from a combination of cocaine and alcohol. The inquest heard how other members of the group felt unwell and collapsed after taking small amounts of the powder. I had to sit down and I was really weak and I just collapsed. Eight British holidaymakers had to be treated in hospital near the ski resort after taking drugs from the same batch. The intention was to enjoy themselves by partaking of this particular drug.
