Family farm Innlandet. Our dreams came true the summer of when we bought a organic certified farm! We love it here! We are easygoing and very social people and we are not afraid to try out something new! So far we have 80 sheep, 2 cats and 12 chickens at our farm. Our goal is to be self sustained with meat, eggs and vegetables. We have lots of buildings to attend. We are growing potatoes and kale. We have lots of forest on our ground and we have both fishing and hunting rights around the area. As mentioned above, we are close to both Hafjell and Kvitfjell skilopes and there are many miles of cross-country skiing opportunities. We have two cabins in the mountain where our future sheepcan graze. We have 1 child who loves to ski. We need someone who likes to work both outdoors and inside. If you like to cook, you are most welcome:- We need YOU if you are able to work independently and like to creat things. Here is our plan through the year: Nov - Mar: Calm time of the year where we feed the animals, working in the Kombucha-brewery and go skiing. Apr - June: Funny time of the year with lambing, growing vegetables and preparing the farm for the summer. July - Sept: Summertime with fixing the farm and hiking in the mountains for watching the sheep. Oct: Bringing the sheep down from the mountain and preparing for the winter. About 6 km north of Tretten, turn right by the sign 'Ostfjellvegen', then first exit left. This was my first wwoofing experience and I had an absolute blast. I stayed there from the 1st of march to the 28th of June so I got to see a bit of most of the seasons. However in the summer there is a lot of small construction work and cleaning up around the farm. If you are lucky enough to be there around the time when the lambs are born you will see the sweetest animals ever. In addition the farm and the environment around it are beautiful also during the winter of course but everything feels more magical in the spring and summer. This farm is ideal for someone who takes initiative and likes to fix whatever they see is wrong. I had a wonderful time for my first time as a Woofer at Magali gard. Thank you so much for everything!! I stayed there for three months. The working hours are flexible and you have plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. I had to take care of the lambs they are very nice and so cute and I also helped to bring the sheep to the mountain around the end of june. I took care of the Airbnb cabins. We took care of the farm and had a lot of building projects. Don't hesitate to go there if you can! Joan Anton. My experience at Mageli Gard was really really good. I stayed for two months between July and August. The main tasks we did were feeding the lambs, doing the airbnbs, building projects and some gardening stuff. Havard is a cool man and you'll feel really confortable with him and Synne. I remember at the beginning I was not so good at english but he is patient and he will explain you how to do the different tasks if you ask him. We normally had breakfast at 9 and from there we started the day working normally between 4 and 6 h per day Mon-Fri. But the truth is that we were constantly adapting the schedule depending on the weather forecast. As I said the tasks we did weren't really hard working and we had really funny moments while doing them. We really had free time to go hiking, swimming in the big river or playing with the sheep. I was looking for a completely different experience and I had it so I'm really grateful to have been in Mageli this summer and for all the people I've met there. Havard is a kindly and welcoming host. He took care of me and my dog. He is also attentive of your needs. The routine work was to give milk to lambs tree time per day , feed and check sheeps, and preparate the airbnb appartment. Others works were, renovations, building, check fences, gardening Except for the routine work, we didn't really have a schedule. Be adaptable is a good qualitie to have to do woofing. In the farm each day is different. The balance between time for work and time for relax was good. In the morning we took it slowly and we worked more during afternoon. During the week end, you only have to take care of animals and airbnb but no special works. Don't worry if your english is not so good. Havard and Synne were patient and they took time to teach me english. I very appreciated it. They do dumpster diving. So, most of the food that we ate was from this food. It was a new experience for me, and i learned that you can eat well with this food. Shops waste so much food, it's incredible! In addition, we had very interesting conversations about everythings. I particulary liked the sharing of life experiences. I will keep Havard's advices in my head. I learned a lot during my stay. I'm sure my experience at Mageli Gard will help me in the future. Thanks for everything! I stayed for 2 weeks during March at Mageli Gard! And I highly recommend this woofing place: Even though it was winter and there wasn't much to do, Havard really made his best for my stay to be worth it. This is such a nice feeling to arrive and to feel welcome with an interesting and funny host. Thanks Havard, and see you with my mom at the next Belgian festival haha!! Our stay at Mageli gard was fun, full of joy and laughters. They are generous and caring people. We spent the whole month of October at the farm. We did different types of work such as dealing with the sheep feeding them, sorting the lambs out, help with the sheering but also some small scale construction works and cutting wood.
