Earlier this year I found a brilliant artist on Youtube called DrawingWiffWaffles. I watched a few of her videos and fell in love with her art style, with her characters, with her workflow and basically with everything she posted. I love her videos where she unboxes subscription art boxes, comments the featured art and then uses those art supplies to create something beautiful.
I always had this “I love making art but I don’t know how to do it so better don’t”. But Rin made it look so easy, so I started…making art, I guess.
Months later when I found out that one of the subscription boxes is from the UK I had to order one! (I’m European.) So I did. I didn’t have enough time to create something with my new art supplies because…I’m a piece of garbage. Anyway I ordered another box, because I expected the October box to be Spooktober related.
It arrived today. (And it arrived twice, because I accidentaly ordered it twice 😅) Guess what. The featured artist for October is DrawingWiffWaffles!

I’ve been working on being more conscious of how I write emails, and made this handy printable guide! I have a bad habit of overusing exclamation points, emojis, and qualifiers like “just” and “possibly” to sound extra-friendly and non-threatening in emails. (“Just wondering / just confirming / just checking / just making sure / just wanted to let you know”) You are allowed to take up space. Your voice deserves to be heard. Your opinions matter. You don’t need to apologize for existing or asking for what you need. You are not “bossy” or “bitchy” for not sounding like a pep-machine 24/7. If you act like a doormat, you better develop a taste for shoe leather. You have power too. Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself— no one else is gonna do it for you.

Alright, I said I’d make a post commenting on the highlights of An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green, and here it is.

These last few days have been really tough for me. I’ve had several panic attacks and the worst back pains I’ve ever had. I couldn’t stand, sit, lie on my back or stomach…not even sleep. I’ve never had this many painkillers.
Last night I opened TFIOS and read some of my favorite pages. Then I cried myself to sleep, which was probably the only way to get some rest.
Now I’m gonna be reading An Absolutely Remarkable Thing.
The Green Brothers are saving my mental and physical health.
I know that my problems and pains might sound ridiculous to other people. But they are mine. And currently bigger than I am.
