The Conference “Building Bridges Across The Globe” envisions to build community resilience, contribute to the social cohesion and trust within Eastern and Central European countries, foster dialogue and collaborations among various actors in the field of sustainable Peace by bringing together a diverse set of participants, including IREX alumni, scholars and experts, youth, and media from around the world.
The Conference will serve as a platform with an aim of strengthening a network of community leaders by providing knowledge, competencies, skills for community development for the concept on #BuildingGlobalBridges. Participants will share the issues facing their respective countries and leave the Summit with increased confidence, new skills, and a global network that will allow them to make a change as a community and global leaders.

Benefits
- No registration fees
- The hosts will cover the following costs for participants:Accommodation in a shared room;
- All meals during the Summit;
- Program manuals and supporting materials
The conference will include:
- Panels and interactive talks on key issues with an emphasis on Trauma Responsive Communities and Social, Emotional, and Ethical Learning;
- Workshops on building valuable leadership skills — from Intercultural Learning, Community Dialogues, Building Resilience, and Restorative Justice & Practices;
- Develop collaborative Action Plans based on participants’ unique experience, expertise, and vision;
- Networking receptions and intercultural collaboration;
- Building cohesive partnerships across the public and private sectors;
Restorative Justice Two-Day Practitioner Training offered on September 14th & 15th, 2019 will provide an opportunity to learn about the practical implementation of restorative justice, which seeks to balance the interests of the victim and society with the need for the social reintegration of the perpetrator. It is aimed at contributing to the healing of the victim and enabling all parties involved in the justice process to take a fairly fruitful part in it.
Eligibilities
Eligibility:
- Participants from 25 to 40-years-old;
- Coming from the EU, and other European countries (including EaP countries, Balkan countries, Turkey)
- With experience in community work, especially in the field of mediation, conflict resolution, and Peacebuilding;
- High proficiency in English is required;
- Motivated and committed to implementing the outcomes of the Conference in their respective countries
- Available for the entire duration of the Conference
- Please note that selected participants are asked to book their transport tickets themselves, as travel to Sarajevo and visa costs are not covered.
