I have never been spanked with a hairbrush. Many people reference hairbrush spankings. What I want to know is do you use a wooden hairbrush or a plastic hairbrush? I was looking in the grocery store the other day and they had tons of plastic hairbrushes (including flat or slightly rounded solid back hairbrushes), but I didn't really see any wooden ones. What kind do you use? Is buying a plastic hairbrush acceptable for spanking or does it need to be a wooden hairbrush?

Thanks in advance for any assistance and shared knowledge!

Another vote for wood here. Works like a charm on me.

I had the unfortunate encounter with a bathbrush which a clever ER cut down to hairbrush size so she could carry it in her purse. Very effective!

I used a plastic long-handle bath brush, quite frequently, which was more than adequate when dealing with the task-at-hand.

I say "used" b/c the handle finally did break after about 10 yrs of fre

I've been spanked with a plastic hairbrush, but consider it a light implement. A wooden hairbrush has much more sting.

The best place to find a wooden hairbrush is a beauty supply store. I've also seen them at our local Bed, Bath and Beyond store. Amazon has had them as well.

Either is acceptable, it just depends on what kind of outcome you are looking for.

I found a wooden brush at K-Mart a few years ago. It works very well.

I have a wooden one that I found at Target for around $11 that does the trick quite nicely (or not so nicely, depending on your perspective, lol).

Conair ceramic paddle brush, quite aptly named.

Some plastic hair brushes can give a stingy spanking, but the handles break much easier than a wooden one. It probably has a lot to do with the tolerance of the one being spanked.

So, in general, a plastic hairbrush is a lighter, more stingy, less painful implement than a wooden hairbrush, but more likely to break? I realize there are exceptions to the rule, but as a general statement?

Hi Annie Mia.....The thicker the hairbrush is the more thud and less stingy. A smaller thinner wooden hairbrush should give more of a sting than a thud.

I use a wooden Phillips Reinforced Boar Bristle #540, you should be able to find it at a Sally's Beauty Supply or similar for maybe $12.

You need a wooden hairbrush. You want heavy and smooth. I have an old Shadow Lane hairbrush which I find just about perfect, but I've seen great ones at any store with a good hairbrush collection (and, oddly enough, Florida vacation fans, there's a kiosk at Orlando International Airport with any brush you could ever want!)

I have a plastic one and it does the job.

That, @barebottombrittany , is the beautiful diversity of the site... different strokes for different folks!

@barebottombrittany so you're a switch lol?

Wooden ones are evil! But, they get the job done. Plastic ones break more easily. They hurt but not like a wooden one.

I've been spanked with both plastic and wooden hairbrushes, the pain from plastic just feels wrong to me. For wood, make sure it has a decent sized handle. Bought a wooden hairbrush for spanking purposes but its handle is tiny.

I'm going to be searching for one soon. I need a wooden brush with bigger handle then the one I have.

Yikes, bro ! A bathbrush for twelve bucks!!!!! I'm heading to the Dollar Store, this spanker is on a budget!

LOL, silly AG, the cheap ones from dollar stores or Walmart break easily. Make an investment!

I have a pretty solid plastic one that has never failed to get desired results. In fact, I keep one in my vehicle at all times, just in case ...

Its not a bath brush its a hair brush that has served me very well for multiple uses over the years.

I, too, am a spanker on a budget. You can find awesome implements at Vallue Village for cheap cheap cheap!

But yeah, don't skimp on the hair brush, its the #1 tool in the spanker's arsenal!

Ive got bamboo wooden hairbrush that I had gotten off of Amazon for $12. I attached an image below. I hear it stings quite a bit

I agree that even in a budget it's well worth $12 for a good one if you plan on using it more than a couple times and I've had no problems with mine.

Also commenting cause I also want a hairbrush. Specifically looking for places to buy a good sturdy wooden hairbrush in Canada... cause I've broken 2 so far... oops...

Or amazon.ca links, preferably under prime

I used a plastic long-handle bath brush, quite frequently, which was more than adequate when dealing with the task-at-hand.

I say "used" b/c the handle finally did break after about 10 yrs of frequent use. (and I don't mean for bathing)

Rite-Aid has a wooden “dry skin brush” that is thick, thuddy and wonderful for $7ish.
