Blessed with one of the Caribbean region’s longest white sand coastlines–a whopping 48 kilometers (30 miles), punctuated with sky-reaching coconut palms–Punta Cana is the land of rest and relaxation by the sea. By land, the Oscar de la Renta highway, also known as Autopista del Coral, puts visitors less than an hour away from La Romana’s beaches and multiple attractions, and just two and a half hours from Santo Domingo and its Colonial City.

Boca de Yuma offers a daytime escape to a scenic Dominican fishing village. Boasting panoramic cliff top views, it has often been compared to an Italian seaside town, where restaurants, bars, and shacks line up above the sea. The Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León once had a home in the area.
One of two courses located within the Catalonia Bávaro Resort in Punta Cana, Alberto Sola designed the Cabeza de Toro Golf Club as a challenging, nine-hole executive course surrounded by swaying palm trees and five lakes for incomparable views.
A half-day adventure takes you zipping above the Anamuya jungle, on double ziplines totaling 1,310 meters (4,300 feet) in length, soaring past gigantic trees. Along the way, you’ll cross hanging bridges and enjoy hiking along a range of the park’s native flora and fauna.
